Spreading the Gospel of the Computer

About Takura

I build software for people who have to deal with money, customers, and consequences — which is to say, the kinds of systems where bugs don’t just “crash,” they invoice.

By day: I run Keridan (founded 2022) and ship products like Collections Booster for financial institutions — including work connected to outfits like CBZ and InnBucks. By night: I make videos under Clueless Pundit about computing history, tech careers in Africa, and the weird little human stories hiding behind “innovation.”

Origin story: I started teaching myself to code at 15 on an HP-11C calculator. Yes, a calculator!

I’m drawn to two things: building and explaining. Building because reality is stubborn and needs persuasion. Explaining because half the tech industry communicates exclusively through fog.

What I build

Practical software, mostly in the “if this breaks, the phones will ring” category. I like systems that are auditable, testable, and unreasonably hard to misuse.

  • Credit operations tools (collections workflows, call-centre dashboards, reporting)
  • Neon-glass UI that looks modern without becoming a circus
  • Data + automation (background jobs, reconciliation, notifications, PDF reporting)

What I publish

Computing history and career advice for the African context — minus the motivational posters. I’m interested in what actually works when your constraints aren’t theoretical.

  • Clueless Pundit: computing history, rivalries, inventions, and the occasional rant
  • Coding in Africa: career maps, realities of employment/freelancing/startups
  • Interactive content: because plain text is sometimes too polite

How I think

I’m allergic to hand-wavy claims. If we can’t measure it, test it, or at least describe it clearly, it’s probably marketing. (Or religion. Sometimes both.)

  • Systems over slogans
  • Clarity over buzzwords
  • Tools are not personalities (yes, even AI)
