Not seeing Zim or Irish team as favourites, it wont be a cakewalk for them to Round 1 at downunder. Associates are playing lots of T20 games among them and many of them had set up their own league to get more accustomed to the format.
ICC might change the play offs model of T20 qualifiers to a 8 team league, with every game having importance and top 2 in each groups qualifying for Round 1
UAE is best out of them, when its comes to league cricket. Some of their players playing in T10 & T20s, sharing dressing room with stars of world cricket gives them the exposure.Recently ECB has come up with franchise based Abu Dhabi T20 Trophy, with 6 domestic T20 wining teams partcipating from Afghanistan, Australia, Pakistan, New Zealand, South Africa & England will create more interest in developing the game in UAE.
USA & Canada aren't far away, USA has been biggest surprise with Major league & Minor league T20 tournaments with many ex cricketers participating and are in contention to make debut for USA in future. Canada had one season of Global T20 league, many of their players plays domestic in the Carribean. Nepal have their Everest league and has got new sensation in form of Kushal Bhurtel, hard hitting opener recently won ICC player of the month followed by their star leggie Sandeep Lamichhane can have massive impact if they play in Oman.Biggest plus point of Nepal is supporters, they have huge fanbase similar to the asian giants. Hong Kong might be having good power hitters with their vintage Super 6s tournament. They havent been consistent with ICC tournaments, but still will be a great force to watch out in the qualifiers.
