Opening post

As an interesting aside I see Langton Rusere is the TV umpire tonight for Pakistan v Afghanistan. What other Zimbabweans are at tournament? Pommie is commentating and Andy flower is coaching Afghanistan.

He's been the onfield umpire as well a few times, including the England match the other day.

Are we counting Tom Curran or not? Bit of a stretch maybe.

So Zimbabweans coach three of the sides, that's crazy.

Langton has been doing a good job as an onfield umpire too.

Zimbabwe should be and will be there as a team at the next year's event.

I've been watching Asia Cup and Langton Rusere seems to have improved, has made some really good decisions to be honest.

I know he been quite terrible in the past, esp in Zimbabwe games but has looked good here.

He’s a damn sight better than any of the other active professional umpires we have here. Some of the other guys are jokers.

Langton is always pretty decent overall. Even the best have the occasional howler.

Some will give you out when you're taking your guard, or not out if your middle stump cartwheels over the side screen.

We've had the technology for years to retire all umpires.

Haha, that's going the Tennis way Googly, but I like the human aspect in any sport. It is frustrating at times but that's the way we've grown up watching the sport.
