The domestic club season kicks off this weekend with the return of the Bulawayo Met 1st League. Queens, BAC, Amakhosi and Poly return.
Amakhosi Vs Queens @ Emakhandeni Ground
Byo Poly Vs BAC @ MacDonald Ground
I’d expect most Tuskers players to be playing as it’s pre-season.
Meanwhile if anyone has any updates about anything happening elsewhere in the country at club level this season, especially the Vigne Cup, please let us know here. So many people involved on the ground lurk and read this forum - please post guys :D info appreciated!
The kid can clearly play. That shot he played against Hasan Ali over mid wicket for 6 proved it. He just needs time, simple
I don’t know why ZC can’t just send talented niggas like this to a top country’s facility for a few months to pick up in some alternative and additional coaching. It’s surely not that expensive.
I suppose the fear is that they might not come back 😂
Hopefully Klusener arrives soon and can make an impact with these young guys like Marumani, Madande, Wes, Shumba and Welch. We've got some great raw talent atm but it really needs polishing.
Saw enough of steven saul in the west indies under 19 game to say he has the basics and a great pull shot. Surely he should be playing some club cricket. Whats the deal with him going forward?
Alex Sports Club, 152ao (M Zia 28, Zafar 27; Chinyerere 5-35, Naga Reddy 2-15) def Centurions, 70ao (Chinyerere 17; M Afroz 3-15, Tekere 3-15) by 82 runs.

Matsi coming out of retirement to turn out for Taka 3 against his son who was playing for Rangers!
"One of the billionaires is Mr Mulk who is coming to launch T10 cricket."
😂
He is actually going to be in Zim this week 😂
I suspect they trying to convince him to build the vic falls stadium. They saying the T10 tournament might be held in Zim this year actually. Interesting
The Vic Falls stadium I'm not too sure about. It's a bad idea I think but if somebody else pays for it then what do we lose? Maybe they think the big teams would love a holiday/tour. I don't know what the exact angle is but I suspect they want it done before the 2027 world cup. That is probably their target. Sports tourism. You could convince a few big teams to set up base there
What they probably haven't thought about is that the conditions there might be so different compared to what our guys used to. Both teams would be playing in foreign conditions 😂
The T10 tournament sounds like it is happening anyway. ED is supporting it personally. God help us.
The Indian fella wants to build a 'world class cricket stadium in either Harare or Victoria Falls' according to the media. Let's hope sense prevails and it's Harare. But even then, with that sort of money you could instead just make sports club world class, revitalise a dozen club and school grounds and probably build an indoor centre or two as well.
Jakiel should surely be the first name on any team sheet.
My All-time Zimbabwe XI
Neil Johnson, Brendan Taylor, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), David Houghton, Sean Williams, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Paul Strang, Eddo Brandes, Blessing Muzarabani
Amakhosi won the 1st League quite comfortably. Poly were relegated. Nketa Cheetahs were promoted after winning the 2nd League, and NUST finished bottom of all without winning a single game - quite a fall from grace after being in 1st League a year or two back.
Nice to see a full season with 12 teams across two leagues completed.
Milton Shumba has played a couple of games in the Mash Central T20 comp btw. Good on him for getting out there and playing at every opportunity. Last week I think he played in Harare and Bindura on the same weekend.
