This is really excellent. ZC continuing to do decent things recently. Some red ball cricket as well in there. Great preparation for the Bangladesh series which follows.

I have seen akram twice in that recent t20 and thought he looked the best out of our seamers bar Blessing. Kept it extremely accurate.

Did well on debut in Pakistan but that second match against Afghanistan I think he looked poor.

Odd that he got his chance in T20, on the back of basically no experience at all in the format. He's a much better red ball bowler. You're right, he's pretty accurate when I've seen him over the years. But offers very very little threat really. No pace, doesn't get much bounce, doesn't get much swing, not much seam. He's a bit of a trundler really. He's basically Donald Tiripano but without the experience and guile.

Also not the most popular man in the changing room at Eagles this season I hear.

sure better than DT. Zim don't hve that much of bowlers with pace. BM would be the between 130 to 135. So does nagarva.

Others r into 120s pace with a few deliveries about 130s mark.

What was discouraging to see with low pace they can't get most deliveries on good line and length. DT, Nagrava and Jongwe bowling too many eassy bowls to hit. Offcourse they were not getting any seam.

So with some batting ability also being talked about, is Akram the current generation's Keegan Meth, with ability to bowl slow, accurately and move it around a bit? IF that is the case, I don't see much success for him in the shorter format...

Surely he is not as good as Meth?

Meth ran through batting lineups. Akram has not taken a fivefer yet has he?

Yeah, you are right. That comparison was a little too optimistic for his current domestic record. May be that's the least we should expect of him at domestic level, specially if he doesn't have the pace...

Yea Meth was a seriously intelligent bowler and a more than useful lower order batter.

He has an international half century to his name as well.

Akram is absolutely nowhere near Keegan Meth

Faraz is the true definition of gentle medium pace,I don’t see him getting a 5wickets in an innings in a international game.

With Jongwe back in contention, plus the ever dependable Tiripano. I don’t see Faraz getting anywhere near the playing X unless he puts on a outstanding performance.

Meth had an amazing domestic record. Akram isn't even half as talented!

But you need to tell current players any 5 players in bowling better than him

Most people bowling in the domestic competition are better than Akram

Giving Akram a chance is more important than recycling old crap
Legend
Gumbie scored some runs

Myers with a quickfire 35

Chipungu and Nyangani took a few wickets but were expensive

Chatara took a few wickets as did Chivanga, The latter was a tad expensive
Legend
Nyangani could be the match winner for Zimbabwe if he gets proper support, the art of chinaman is very rare and a lethal weapon to have. Sandakan, Kuldeep, Zahir only the one who has these art. This talent will give advantage to Zim in any pitches as wrist spinners doesn't depend on type of pitch.

Good to see Chatara back, most important to know here his pace, if he his still around 135-140 kph could be most valuable for Zim with that bowling action. Great to see Luke promoted up the order, he has the skill of becoming a good allrounder and in upcomming SA series he should bat at 4 and face more balls to cement his place as allrounder in the national team.

He's been nowhere near 140 for almost a decade

Even calling him 140 then is a stretch of the definition.

I can count on two hands, perhaps even 1, all the times I saw him hit 140.
Looks like Mutumbami demolished the attack with his 121 which included 6 sixes. Also why is there two Musakandas in that scorecard.
Legend
Chatara regularly hit 140 in the WC in Oz, and then he broke his leg and hasn't hit 130 since. In the domestic matches that where streamed I reckon he bowled around 120 kph max.

Again, no he didn't. It's a myth. He bowled in the mid 130's against Pakistan but never clicked 140. I watched the game and remember specifically watching Chatara's speeds
