Opening post

Brendan Taylor had to sit out in the first game and that certainly handicapped the hosts during the chase. His rich experience can't be parameterized and his presence will certainly boost Zimbabwe's chances. Other changes are unlikely given Zimbabwe gave a good account of themselves.

It is inexcusable to drop those many catches against a team like Pakistan. We need to improve our small disciplines," Sean Williams, on Zimbabwe's fielding.

I am expecting differant Pakistan today, the way players are getting criticized for their poor show with the bat in the social media, they might be in smashing mode today, but still aim for Zim will be to get Babar, Rizwan & Fakhar early and exploit that inexperienced middle order.

Addition of Brendan Taylor will be advantage. Missing Ervine going to hurt Zimbabwe.

I feel we've squandered our best chance of winning any game this series. Pakistan will be much more wary of the conditions and our bowling lineup. BT coming back is a big boost but then Ervine going sort of negates that. Either way, here's my XI, assuming BT can keep.

Kamunhukamwe

Madhevere

Taylor (wk)

Musakanda

Williams

Burl

Marumani

Jongwe

Mufudza

Ngarava

Muzarabani

Madhevere should not be opening. Its time for the senior players to take responsibility and lead the way. Rather than "hide" in the middle-order . Plus we need big hitters opening, to take advantage of the power play. Taylor should open with Kamhunu. kamunhu has the technical ability and stubbornness to become a formidable opening batsmen, he just needs to work on this s**t fielding. Ervine and Williams next to shore-up the innings. Then we get into the less experienced guys, Burl, Madhevere plus one more up and coming batsman. Thats the 7 batsmen right there, then Mavuta and Jongwe as the bowling allrounders. Then the tall left-right seamers, Ngarava and Muzarabani.

1. Kamunhu

2. Taylor(wk)

3. Ervine

4. Williams (c)

5. Burl

6. Madhevere

7. Marumani

8. Mavuta

9. Jongwe (Ild have gone for Tiripano)

10. Ngarava

11. Muzarabani

Brad Evans, Dion Myers, Ryan Murran and Milton Shumba have to be in the picture sooner or later. its a shame Moor left/was dropped, he would have been a perfect opening batsman to capitalise on powerplays.

Kudos for whoever the bowling coach is, there's sufficient spin bowling options who are all handy with the bat (incl Raza) and the three seamers Muzarabani, Ngarava and Nyauchi are the type of pace bowlers we've been missing since the Streak-Olonga days. Kudos for thegroundmen for setting up a green pitch suitable for bounce and swing.

That said, whoever is the fielding coach is f***ing up. Ive seen primary school cricket teams with better fielding than what I saw on Wednesday plus Chakabva is a terrible wicket keeper with equally bad batting stats, he needs to stick to domestic cricket

He seems a bit off touch with current affairs in that setup. The whole coaching stuff is clueless.

Jongwe is a big game player I think and also has a touch of arrogance which is good to see in a Zimbabwe player. Let's give the lad a extended run

Kudos for whoever the bowling coach is,

Bowling coach so good he can't produce one actual spinner. He so good he can't teach his pace bowlers how to bowl a yorker or not go for more than 15 in the death overs.

Im obviously grading on a curve, by the low standards Zim has set over the past decade plus, this is the best bowling attack Ive seen. As for yorkers, variation in bowling, I thought Jongwe offered a lot of that. He actually bowled a Pakistan bowler out with a yorker. as for spin, that pitch didn't offer much for spinners. But if you have 5 batsmen who can bowl competent spin, there's not real need for a specialist (and I don't think we have one). Compared with the atrocious batting and comical fielding, the bowling coach is doing quite well....or rather the bowlers are doing well despite having a s***ty bowling coach?
Great Great....Great Great Great....love you Zimbabwe.

That's like a Team...

That's like a Supar Win.

I am sorry...and I am take my word back for jongwe I have spoken in last T20.

Yes...He is match winner.

We have to make habbit of win.

Go Zimbabwe cricket team and roar by winning this 3rd match and prove that we are strong side in cricket

bad strategy by pakistan (if not illegally deliberate).

i sensed they wanted to set themselves then have a net session chasing a fast score. Spectacularky backfired.

jongwe overdid that celebration. loses its originality and shine when you repeat the joke 4 times, he played amazingly though. I am happy for him.

He can stay on the phone all day if he likes.

What were the odds of us winning at the change of innings? Did you see any?

Zim were about 15:1 to win this at half time, so this is where match fixing opportubities comes into play

Questions will be asked

Pakistan were 1.07 i vividly recall and Zim were 15 i think, maybe 17.

Thats how you clean up in the fixing game.

f**k me. WHAT?!?!?

I had to go into a meeting about 5 overs into the Pak innings, was in a really bad mood and thought we'd embarrassed ourselves. Just checked the scorecard and can't believe my eyes. Also can't believe I missed it!!! Argh!

Gonna finish work early and go for a beer to celebrate!

Just a brilliant bowling performance - Jongwe & Burl take a bow. Ngarava with the crucial over. Every bowler fantastic. Sounds like we were electric in the field too.

Imagine if we could bat!

woah take it easy there champ, we do not want to get too excited. We still have to play the aggressive short every ball
the higher you go the cooler it becomes
Roles reversed this match. Zimbabwe are the ones that usually struggle to chase down an easy total. That too with a middle order collapse akin to Zimbabwe.
