best would be to tour Ireland or invite them in Zimbabwe for one test and five Odis.

We don't play Ireland enough .....

Coming back to this forum after quite some time, obviously because there was hardly any cricket going on due to the covid pandemic.

Looks like Zimbabwe are set to tour Pakistan in October. Saw this even on pakistani cricket forum.

Sounds like it might happen. This is great news. Hopefully it’s a full tour

Looks like Pakistan tour to Zimbabwe in April/May 2021 as per FTP will be announced soon.

"The Pakistan Cricket Board today confirmed the men's national team will tour South Africa in April 2021 for three One-Day Internationals, which will be part of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League, and as many T20 Internationals," the PCB said in a statement on Tuesday. "Pakistan has now agreed to fulfil its Future Tours Programme (FTP) commitment prior to visiting Zimbabwe for two Tests and three T20Is. The schedule of both the series will be announced in due course."

Good news but let’s hope there’s some cricket between now and then

World Super League matches have to be prioritized, looking at what the ICC has done to the test championship (shared points for a lot of unplayed games) Bangladesh have been the biggest losers as most of their series' went unplayed.

I understand there is still a lot of time for WSL, but you never know with ICC and the biggest losers could be nations like Zimbabwe, Netherlands and Ireland who don't get priority games in a Covid affected world.

Rescheduling their postponed ODI tour of Australia – originally scheduled for last August – is currently under discussion with ZC’s chiefs hoping to squeeze in a T20 series too.

And Tests?

“Won’t happen,” Mukuhlani chuckles almost dismissively noting that Zimbabwe have not played Tests against Australia since late 2003.

“Hopefully in the next cycle (2023-31).”

Looks like they should get to host Australia again in the next cycle; hopefully for Tests if they can afford it.

Nice to see there is actual dialogue between ZC and boards like Australia.

Test cricket will be dead in the next 10 years if they don’t do something about it. How many tests have Ireland and Afghanistan played since they became full members? That tells you everything.

A proper ICC funded 2-tier league with Sri Lanka, West Indies, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and Ireland being the 2nd tier is the only way to go in my opinion. There must be relegation and promotion in both tiers too. If you still want to play the top teams you can organize that but they play each so often that it honestly doesn’t even make sense for them too.

Watch the Netherlands never really push to play test matches if they can be in the ODI league and T20 world cups. They want to become full members for the money, not test cricket

I read this article and honestly ZC chairman made some very good and valid points there. Test cricket, I'm telling you, will not survive if it continues the way it is.

Eventually even the people in Ind, ENG, Aus will be bored of watching the big 3 play each other in a loop.

Yes, i've read discussion about their push to gain full ICC membership without Test status. That would really kill off Test cricket outside the Big3. That should not be allowed to happen.

I remember when we played tri series with England and Australia, toured the West Indies and made the finals in world cups.

Now we are excited at potentially organising T20s against Namibia :(

So Jaybro,

Your honeymoon is the first test? When do we start with the double entendres postcards? You know, are you going to get no balled? Will you overstep the mark? Will you be standing in slip, with your legs apart, waiting for a tickle?

Sorry, dude!

I got married at the end of the cricket season. Every “postcard” had every corny cricketing reference. I guess you’d be expecting it.

Congratulations to you.
How are they even gonna put in bio bubble?

Hahaha I think Mrs Jaybro would kill me in my sleep if I even mention the word cricket during our honeymoon 😂 😂 😂

It's in late May so hopefully it shouldn't clash with any Test matches for Zim :D
