best would be to tour Ireland or invite them in Zimbabwe for one test and five Odis.

We don't play Ireland enough .....

Nobody wants to play us. We had one shot at fixing it and it’s gone.

All we can do now is enjoy the final few years of Taylor, Williams, etc in whatever high profile matches they end up playing because this is the last hurrah for Zim cricket. Sad but true, it's done.

I couldn't have put it any better myself.

Williams, Ervine, Taylor and Mazakadza are some of my favorite players. Now, I'm just going to chersih every time they set foot onto the pitch, because after them, we're done, it's over. All the memories of the golden years and the fight and grit we showed in the 90's will be but an echo. Genuinely is depressing to think we probably won't be around in 2 years, and if we are, we'll have a squad makeup of very average players.

I still stand by this below. Bets?

The ICC have behaved disgracefully throughout all of this. It's clear they have been looking for a reason to oust Zim. They didn't wait long at all to pull the trigger.

The ICC should have kicked ZC to the curb 10 years ago circa 2010. Despite a few false daws (2011, 2017) Zim cricket has been shockingly poor both in the boardroom and on the field.

As opposed to? SLC? BCB? The general consensus is BD should never have been a FM at the time.

Basically, ZIM rebooted in 2011. Any judgements can be made from 2021. In 2021, I just don't see BD winning a Test series in ZIM against:

Kamunhukamwe, Burl, Kaia, Musakanda(c), Kasuza, Murray(wk), Jongwe, Mashinge, Ngarava, Mumba, Muzarabani(he'll be back). Moor and Chari won't have declined much. And if a Mahmadullah is still around, so will Chakabva. ZIM won't give BD spinners any helpful pitches.

We can bet 10k USD now.

With the WT20 next year also gone, the players need some sort of motivation to keep themselves going, apart from the ODI league, I don't see any thing much.

Anyways, I think the first big step as of now is to get the suspension lifted on Oct 12th, let's see if ZC organizes some games after that. I desperately hope so.

I feel this is the only way to yield positive results:

We will see. If Tamim Iqbal has the kind of form he had in NZ earlier this year, he'll score more runs than that lineup you posted by himself. Mushfiq is fit enough to bat till age 40. Mosaddek is shaping up to be a very strong batter, and by 2021 he will likely be batting at #5 or #6. Abu Jayed can swing the ball around corners, Ebadat can hurry the batsmen with pace, and Nayeem Hasan will be able to generate bounce and turn from most tracks.

Do you have a job, or does Mukhu just pay you to sit on Cricinfo and post stats willy nilly?

Looks like the Afghanistan series postponed from last year is scheduled for June. 5 T20Is but no mention of the 1 Test that was part of the original series (probably cancelled)

Interest in to see if It goes ahead. I have a feeling all sports will be cancelled till around the end of July

What's the point of being quarantined for 2 weeks to only play 1 week of cricket. They might as well have a full tour.

I hear Australia might visit England for an ODI series in September; it makes sense for them to make this little warm-up series happen.

That’s the reality of the situation. Every team will be doing the same for all tours, whether it’s a short one or a long one.

Very exciting that Zimbabwe are touring Australia, obviously my first memories of Zimbabwe was if them playing ODIs here in the early 2000s

Zimbabwe has always performed fairly well in Australia, even if they didn’t get the results they’ve been competitive, even at the 2015 WC they were competitive in every game despite just the one win (in NZ)

I can only hope they use their two week isolation to prepare really well, it might sound ridiculous but if Zimbabwe were some how able to steal a win this could open doors for more tours.

A 3-0 thrashing will probably result in another 20 years before they get invited again.

Jeez I hope to see Wes, Shumba, Myers, Murray in the squad. If we pick the same old Maruma Chigumbura old man crew then we won't be back, but if we show there is some young talent around, even if it is few and far between, then it can be a good thing. Will be interesting to see who Aus pick as well if it goes ahead

Can't wait to watch Elton strut his stuff in Townsville

Who's in for a top end trip boys?
