T20 is a good way of drawing new people into the game for countries like USA and Canada. Their baseball games look like a test match between Rwanda and Bolivia, T20 surely has to gain some traction?

All countries need a T20 league surely? It is an exciting and now important format and requires a different skill set that has definitely changed how the 50 over game is played by the top teams. It also gives players some extra cash because most of these Boards are as divisive and corrupt as ours and pay their players not a lot whilst they drive fancy cars with all the perks.

SA will have zero interest in hosting us for any games, either internationals or some form of domestic league, they are miles ahead of us and there's no upside for them.

Namibia I'm sure would be interested if their finances permitted, but I'm guaranteeing they'd embarass us sooner rather than later, which is something ZC will dodge. The more exposure we get the more apparent it is that we are almost at ground zero. It's not a good look and our massive ICC financing is looking increasingly ridiculous to everybody.

How does Zim develop its own strong domestic league? Thats the 100 million dollar question. They've finally decided to play a few more games which is the bare minimum that is required. People are treating it as if ZC have cracked the code. It's surely the minimum prerequisite to just get started. It's about 20 years too late, but its certainly a good thing. Public reaction should be- why the

F&^@ weren't you doing this before, instead it's- jeez well done guys, brilliant idea! Anyway the ridiculousness of that aside, we lack the players that can take advantage of it and really kick on. That's a f%* up that has been 20 years in the making and almost impossible to fix. Essentially the same bunch with the same mind set that caused the problem are being lauded for trying to fix it. With a massive concerted effort of doing a lot of things correctly starting now we might see results in some years down the road.

The first step is to try and win some games. These qualifiers are against Jersey, Singapore and USA. How sad is that!!! Jeez we have fallen a long long way into a very deep hole. It's not a given either, Singapore will be OK and Jersey will have some players. One would like to think we will be comfortable, but we are so s**t there's always doubt.

These other scheduled games against the bigger teams we are just going to continue to get absolutely raped.

Bangladesh tour confirmed as 3 ODIs & 3 T20s

Bangladesh are having a disaster of a time these days, I would say this will be a great opportunity for Zimbabwe to register some upset wins.

Our friend Zolsky, sorry - I mean Mukuhlani 😂 - has obviously been sucking a lot of d**ks at the ICC meetings. The FTP is better than I thought it would be.

I still don't think all of it will be honoured and I can foresee a lot of the Tests, especially home ones, having to be cancelled.

In an industrialized country, I can easily see it costing that much. I'm sure the price includes things like leasing the venue on a pro rated basis.

Figure the ECB leases Lord's from the MCC or whoever actually owns the venue (could be Dubai sheikh or a Chinese real estate firm for example). I imagine the rent would be at least 100,000 GBP per year (there are NYC apartments cheaper than that!). So prorated to 2 home Tests per season is 50k right there.

Then there's utilities like floodlights, water, lawn care, pitch curating. Thats gotta be 10-20k. Groundsmen fees, umpiring fees. I imagine an ICC elite umpire makes decent money.

There's insurance for the venue. Insurance for players and staff. Keeping emergency medical staff on standby.

Security (big expense in Pakistan, BD, SL). Huge expense. Significant expense in AUS and ENG I imagine.

You have also factor that all these are being outsourced to private companies and they will charge a premium...it's not being done at cost.

Also, broadcast equipment is extremely expensive. Just DRS alone is a 6 figure sum.

I can totally see a Test costing 7 figures. Now can it theoretically be done cheaper, probably yes.

It used to be done a lot cheaper. And I mean in real terms. Zimbabwe can do a test for much less, especially against Afghanistan.

It would still be relatively expensive, unless its not broadcast at all, or just streamed on youtube. But I think that violates an ICC requirement for all matches between top 12 sides to be broadcast.

The point being is that, there's a lot of itemized things that all cost money, and I'm sure I didn't even think of half the stuff that goes on during a Test match. For example, I didn't put anything on their about food. 2 meals per day times 30 players, 3-4 umpires, 20-30 groundstaff, times 5 days is also going to be several thousands of dollars, at least in a "first world country".

If Blessing is not available for India series, then I would like to see Evans and Gwandu in place of Chatara and Blessing. No Tiripano, No Masuku please.

I have been impressed by Gwandu from whatever little I've seen... Chivanga I'm not very sure.. He looks wayward at times.

I'm hoping Blessing will be for at least for the Australia tour.
