best would be to tour Ireland or invite them in Zimbabwe for one test and five Odis.

We don't play Ireland enough .....

Funny thing is that even the Aussies don't stop their international cricket for BBL but Afghans do, that's as pathetic as it can get honestly.

Can't the ZC and NET board set up the series now in Jan, as the Afghans won't turn up anyways?

Also I wonder when will Afghans play their super league matches, they've only played 3 so far...they have a lot to make up for and the last thing I want is for the ICC to consider % winnings in case the series don't go ahead. It should simply be points, nothing else.

Afghans basically hold boards to ransom and get away with it. No one cares for them unless Rashid Khan or Mujeeb is playing.

I say tough s**t. If those players are not available, then they are not available. Deal with it.

^ It's cancelled (postponed) now, confirmed.

We might struggle to fulfil our away tour to Sri Lanka in January if this flight ban continues.

Oman and the UAE are currently playing ODIs in Namibia as well, that looks likely to get cancelled too.

I hope things normalize by January. If so, then at least Zimbabwe won't have any cancellations.

I think this is a bit of a knee jerk reaction by some countries. I can see European countries and the US still reporting massively large number of covid cases as compared to African countries. I understand it's more about the varient, but then covid is an endemic now anyways, there will be many varients coming, so what's new in this?

Looks like Super League will end up being decided by % of points earned and not absolute points like they did for the WTC. So many games have been postponed there is no way to make them up and also have equal number of matches for all teams.

Most likely, there seems to be no urgency amongst any of the teams to play out these games quickly.

Sony advertising Zimbabwe's tour of Sri Lanka starting Jan 16th. Will it go through folks?

It's an away series, so the question of teams not coming to Zimbabwe is out. It's just a matter of how ZC ensures Zimbabwe team can reach SLN.

Don't know where to post this but this Omicron s**t is being taken to another level. Apparently it is in India as well now, the entire world is acting as if it's some new virus altogether without any base or data.

I don't know if this covid has become a business kind of a thing for the World but this is absolute s**t. Media is hyping it up like anything. All idiots. I still don't know why are they doing this.

During delta barely anyone was vaccinated, it's no longer the case now, this omicron, popcorn, shitcorn will keep coming, just bloody get on with it ffs.

Governments are pooing themselves, and I've no idea why. Of course southern Africa have born the brunt of it unfortunately. The fact it is now being discovered everywhere else and there is evidence that it was present in Europe well before it was found in SA is just the tip of the iceberg.

I get it. It's a virus. It's pretty s**t. Lots of people have died. I'd rather not catch it. Maybe being very cautious early on was justified whilst we worked it out and got to grips with it.

But come on...how many f***ing years are we going to lock ourselves away, shut our borders, cripple our economies, and ruin peoples lives, families and communities as a result of this? It's a grim virus but I don't see what choice we have but to get on with it. Unfortunately the world is full of mad governments panicking......there's plenty of theories out there why.

Thankfully we've done better than most of Africa with vaccines here.....except they are bloody Chinese so largely useless. And still only about quarter of the population anyway.

There's no reason international cricket, or any activity, can't be carried out successfully and safely but hey, most of the players have bought into the whole fear thing and are terrified. Ultimately governments set the agenda and influence things.....if there are flight bans or restrictive government quarantines what can you do? And if players don't want to play or isolate or bubble or they are scared then what can you do? I have no idea why western countries are so scared and why the governments are so keen on brainwashing people into such a level of extreme fear over there. These are countries that once conquered the world. Now they have healthy elite athletes scared of getting a cough!!

Of course our own twat in power has now decided to do the same again as well and shut the borders. Any excuse for a crack down and to stamp some authority hey. He loves it.

Nice to hear SL are still expecting it to go ahead, and very soon too! No mention of it from our end yet though.

Will be very difficult for Zim to perform as it will be a whole month without any cricket by the time we land in SL.

This is good to know. I'm hoping we will start hearing some official news come the new year.

Will be difficult to pick a squad after everyone’s been out of action for a while. I think Kaitano deserves a limited overs chance.

I don’t think PJ has done enough for a recall yet.

Burl has been in pretty poor form. He might miss out. Maybe Jono Campbell an outside chance of getting a go.

I think Masuku would struggle in SL so I don’t think this is his time.

Mumba might come in alongside Ngarava Blessing and Larry as the pacers.

If they are typical SL pitches we are going to need spinners. At least we have loads of spinning all rounders. Wellington and either Mavuta or Ndlovu the specialists.
Legend
Probably only one specialist spinner needed with burl sikander raza Williams and madhevere in the squad
