Zimbabwe should offer some life to the Harare track against Pakistan to give them a chance

Opening post

Hi guys. I am from Mumbai ( India ), new to this forum and a fan of Zimbabwe Cricket from 90s.

Looking at Zimbabwe records against the Asian sides, it is found that, Zimbabwe have troubled the Asian sides whenever there is seam movement or bounce in the pitch.

At present Muzarabani & Nyauchi are in good form, both looked to be a great explorer of pitch conditions. Donald has also chip in with important breakthroughs. Looking at Pak bowling & batting, Zim should offer some life in that Harare track. Taylor, Ervine, Williams have more experience playing in tracks with some life and can adjust to seam & bounce then Pak batsman, there is certainly a chance. Otherwise, leggie's like Usman Qadir, Shadab or Nawaj could damage Zimbabwe batting even in flat decks.

Muzarabani can explore bounce Nyauchi & Faraz can trouble with their swing & seam movement.

Absolutely, that is Zimbabwe's best chance, they must prepare some seamer friendly tracks against Pakistan and later in the year against Bangladesh and the Afghans, we saw how they got bundled out in the first test on a green wicket.

They should be able to do that at HSC

Brad Evans 8 four day games 19 wickets,

Andre Odendaal 3 matches 10 wickets with highest score of 80. On browsing, found that these guys previously played club cricket in UK & Australia

Though less experience at domestic level, but bowling to international stars like Taylor, Ervine, Chakabva and performing can make selectors think and offer a contract. A left arm medium fast with batting skills in lower order can be handy for Zimbabwe

Has Evans got a chance ?

Evans needs to take his wicket taking ability up a notch, if he does, he’s a shoo in if you subscribe to the belief that Chatara and Jarvis are done (or even if one is but the other is not).

He keeps it sufficiently tight and has that part down Pat.

I actually have a feeling the person who might sneak their way into the team is Odendaal. Got a feeling he is going to smash whatever domestic T20 they set up and he won’t look back
