More than likely just some cricket in the European Summer, although Zimfan1 suggested he isn’t happy with Zimbabwe not selecting him of late.

You have to think though, Moor’s family is well setup in Zimbabwe so you’d think his future is in Zim. Also he’s hardly going to choose club cricket in Ireland over a Test match for Zimbabwe.

I doubt he’s going to be selected for the upcoming series, but I definitely think he could be a key player for Zimbabwe if the ‘Big 4’ retire after the 2023 WC

Not good news for Zimbabwe.

But Moor should have been regular in shorter format cricket, deserved support after few of his failures.

Moor should have been playing a lot more frequently for Zimbabwe, although it may just be that he is looking for some game time. Too early to conclude that he is moving to Ireland.

He's not eligible to play for the Irish national side until October 2022, as there is a 3-year cooling off period between switching between full member nations. If Zim pick him in the meantime, it'll be put back even further. Although I guess he'll be arriving in Ireland for the season quite soon, so presumably he isn't going to be involved in the Pakistan series.

Having said that, Ireland are desperate for wicketkeepers at the moment so this could be quite shrewd by Cricket Ireland......

Ffs this is so frustrating. I had been hoping he was going to be selected for the test series.

Such a shame
ZCF Hall of Famer
Hey might be just keeping his options open if he cant force himself back into the red bird jersey.

I am convinced if he had stuck around for another 2 weeks he would have made the T20 squad after the domestic T20. Interesting choice. There is so much cricket to be played this year. There is always an opportunity. If he wants to play for Ireland I can only wish him the best .

I think if he is selected for the Pakistan series he will stay and play, this is just another UK club contract. However we will get out answer when we see whether he plays in the domestic T20 starting on Saturday.

This is where there needs to be conversation with ZC. I don't think ZC communicate much. They need to be talking to players all the time, discussing plans and idea. I feel he would have signed the contract because he knows he wont be picked.

I find it hard to believe that his possible exclusion is some kind of sinister plan. The real

Issue here is that he has not been dominating the domestic competitions.

Look at the Kia Brothers they have put runs on the table, let the runs do the talking.

Don’t get me wrong I would like to see him in a Zim Test side but his form lately has been questionable.

If ZC are saying they will pick players based on their performance on the domestic scene,it helps to make it clear what are the expectations required for you to get selected.

Is he really struggling to get going score one or two hundreds in the domestic scene.

If he goes on and players for Ireland and become they star batsman so be it.I wish him well as a fellow Zimbabwean.

Would everyone chill the f**k out lol he's signed a club contract in the European Summer, he hasn't switched his alliance to Ireland

Not much of a loss really. His performances in domestic cricket dont even warrant a selection.

Did well in the most recent round of Logan Cup matches I seem to remember, not to mention the fact he averages 35 in test cricket...

I think we should also remember he isn't a great wicketkeeper at all. Hasn't had the gloves in the Logan Cup this season even, made quite a lot of mistakes behind the stumps in Zimbabwe colours when he did have the gloves. If Ireland have scouted him out for that (Ireland have a very real, serious WK shortage) then so be it. He has a lot more to give and a lot of potential as a quality batsmen though. I hope he goes on to fulfil it, either in Ireland or Zim.

I don't think he'd have any reason to switch allegiances tbh. Ireland play even less cricket than Zim so that wouldn't make sense. His family are absolutely minted so it can't be for the money.

It's probably just a club deal at this stage.

PJ quits Chevrons...

Former Zimbabwe vice captain PJ Moor has turned down a contract extension offer from Zimbabwe Cricket opting instead to play inter-provincial cricket in Ireland for Munster Reds.

Moor who has an Irish passport will leave for Ireland on 18th of April. https://t.co/4nsvyUiNtH

Well what a shame that is. Another good player gone.

He's only rejected the short domestic contract extension that have been offered to everyone after the season got extended post-covid. So he's effectively rejected a 2-month contract from Tuskers. He didn't have a national/central contract anyway.

It doesn't mean he's 'quit the Chevrons' at all.

Sad to see him go. But he has been in poor form until 2 logan cup matches ago. Really failed to take his chances in shorter formats. I see Burl following, he has really been another disappointment. looks like Kyle Jarvis will not be here for long, honestly another average at best player we are losing. we are really exposed now. We do not have a team across all formats.

Moving to Ireland won't benefit Moor much, I hope he stays with Zimbabwe.

No matter what you guys say but if Moor goes it will be a loss for Zimbabwe.
