Opening post

Just a white ball tour here...3 Super League ODIs, followed by the T20 series. It would have been better for the meaningless T20 series to go first to allow BD to acclimatize ahead of League matches, but the BD team have already been in NZ for several weeks now.

Williamson (injury) and Shakib (paternity leave) are both out of this series. Ross Taylor is out for at least the first match.

Bangladesh have never won a game in NZ before, so the goal is simply to win an ODI and get 10 "bonus" points for the Super League. Will be a tall ask even without KW and Taylor.

An injury worry for Mosaddek Hossain, who just keeps missing chances due to injuries or illness or family issues every time he's selected. Its unbelievable bad luck. Media reports are that he's "recovering" so I'm hoping he is fit for the first ODI.

I think the lineup for BD will be fairly easy to predict:

1) Tamim

2) Liton

3) Najmul

4) Mushfiq

5) Mosaddek/Mithun

6) Mahmudullah

7) Saifuddin

8) Mehidy

9) Rubel

10) Hasan Mahmud

11) Mustafizur

I think Shoriful is a better seamer than Hasan, but seniority rules in the subcontinent. I'd also like to see Mohammad Naim get a run at the top of the order before the series ends.

I think it's just 2 tests against SLN, no WSL games.

The Tests are in SL, and the ODI series is in BD a few weeks later. Two separate tours in close proximity due to being postponed cu of COVID.

Another humiliating overseas tour comes to an end. Really p**sed off that players like Soumya and Mithun keep wasting spots and gametime from younger players with potential. We're not even giving others a chance to fail. Bangladesh team management are pathetic and that is actually a compliment.

Only two things which could be construed as positives, and that was the bowling of Taskin and Shoriful. Taskin seems to have improved his bowling after a long lay off, and looks a better bowler. I hope he can continue to keep up his current form and not let the 4-5 dropped catches every series wear him down.

Shoriful did everything I had hoped he would to be honest. His numbers might look mediocre, but Bangladesh have never had a seamer who could consistently generate steep bounce. If he can add a yard or two of pace - tough given his rail-thin physique, he'd be quite a handful. As it is, I'm very pleased with what I've seen from this teenager.

There is no option but moving onto the next series for Bangladesh.

That and time to kick Mithun out of the squad for life for f**ks sake.

I’d didnt follow the series that closely, but did it Mithun do well and top score a few games?

He did well in the 2nd ODI hitting 73 not out off 58 balls or something. Was a solid innings. Tamim top scored with 78 that game. Mithun Scored 20 more runs from another 4 innings on tour.
