If selectors ever needed proof that an attacking front line batter is a better option down the order than a guy who bats middle order all the time then this is it.

I'm not suggesting MW specifically, but a front line batter finds it easier to deal with an older ball than a middle order guy.

There's been some brilliant batting in this leg of the logan cup so far.

Out of curiosity, who's better? Matthew Campbell or Jono?

No livestream? Ffs

Ok it's on and Chatara throws the wickets down and Curran was out and not given. These umpires are so f***ing useless. 2 lives now

Knackers looking in charge here.
Legend
In the other game which is very nearly concluded Hamid Ali fighting somewhat of a lone battle. Alex Russell ripping apart side again.

Knackers survives what looked like a plumb lbw from Frost. Starting to look like we're dealing with kwekwe umps.

Totally there was one yesterday not given too

Game hinges on Masekesa and his first over is rubbish.

That one didn’t look stone dead

Alex Russel with yet another 5 wicket haul.

MW’s 164 runs in this match turning out to be the difference, great bowling from Vinny too
Dubois!!

A few things to note here from this round, which has been extremely encouraging.

The younger players have truly shon and put their hand up with the bat.

Myers looks the goods and currently sits on a 52 average in FC cricket.

Marumani has scored another FC ton and has an average of 36. Again, showing he can really play and should be looked at more than just a T20 slogger.

Nick Welch and Matty Welch have shown they've got natural boundary hitting ability. As it stands I don't know who is actually the better batter.

Ervine has reaffirmed his class and his status as our best better in 50 over and longer format cricket.

Ben Curran seems to have hit some form as an opener, which is what we desperately need at the moment. Looks dubious for an LBW call though.

Matthew Campbell scoring back to back half centuries at a good strike rate has turned my head, as an opener too. Encouraging but needs to kick on now and continue.

Vincent Musekiwa (spelling) bowled excellently, as did Mavuta.

These boys minus Ervine are the future and they'vade a strong case here for the tests coming up.

Also, seeing Evans back bowling was great to see. Nice that Chats still has it in him yo take wickets

But what about fast bowling department apart from Blessing and Ngarava?

Gwandu - Taking wickets there and here not consistent

Macheka - Injuring most time

Chivanga - Also missing due to injury? Absent in most of the domestic matches.

Well we're still looking for a seaming all-rounder.

Vezha looks ok, more a bowler

Ali Frost, more a batter.

Evans, really hoping he fires this season. As usual he needs to find a yard of pace as well.

Faraz, more a batter. I just can't wrap my head around his lack of pace.

Jongwe. Better than Faraz in both departments in my humble opinion. He seems to have hit his ceiling though, and he's his own worst enemy. If Evans plays well and remains uninjured he has a higher ceiling than Faraz and Luke. He has to go up a level quickly though or he's going to forever remain an option as opposed to a certainty.

We are so short of international quality seaming all-rounder rounders it's scary.

That was a disappointing end to the Rhinos Mountaineers game. Rhinos capitulated without so much as a whimper. Musekiwa and Mayavo went about that poorly.

Evans played well. In my view he should bat at 5 in this team, ahead of Musekiwa even. If they want a national all rounder then the guy must have responsibility with the bat, he's got the ability.

They're all pumping up Musekiwa, and for sure he has lots of potential, but Evans possibly has more with the bat, he just doesn't have enough time in the middle. Give him responsibility. Sink or swim.

Why didn't they bowl Musekiwa? He's an ok seamer as well.

Musekiwa hasn't bowled since african games.

You just can't ignore Chatara. He's still right up there.

I've just seen a pic of a Zim U13 side. About 6 white kids, 4 Indians and a lone black lad.

What that means is there's a good bunch of cricketers and most importantly the parents will attempt to fund raise to get to SA. Let's hope.
