Taibu wasnt a very good batsman.

I think you are tough on Tatenda. Remember he was left to lead a team of youngsters when he should have been focusing on reaching his peack as a batsman. If the rebel saga hadn't happened and Tatenda was left to do his thing he would have reached more lofty heights.

To be honest I think that brought out the best in him.

Everyone always says it’s extra stress coming in after a collapse, but I don’t think so.

It allows the batsman to take his time, get his eye in, less stress in knowing if he did get out he’s not different than the others before him, and the added incentive to look like a hero.

When I played, I did best coming in after collapses in front of me (unless it was due to amazing bowling, in which I’d s**t myself) but if not, I’d score more.

I think Flower and Taibu were beneficiaries here.

Look at the flip, imagine being part of the early 2000s Aussie team when if you are coming in at number 6, everyone ahead of you scored a fifty or century. The pressure to fit in there is worse.

An interesting read about the Late Trevor Madondo. Had he overcome his personal Problems as a young cricketer he would have ranked as a great in zimbabwean cricket circles

He was an impressive player
I would pick Trevor madondo if I was picking the most talented. But the best is taibu Madhevere will be better than him in the future
