ZC should launch an official youtube challenge for live stream of domestic cricket.

I think they have, and they uploaded debut cap ceremony of players and some interviews.

Kasuza making it look easy. Scoring at a good rate too.

Hopefully Kevin keeps going, he has got out at this score in the past.

Kiss of death, out hit wicket on 70.

I see Chari is captain of Tuskers when you've got Williams in the squad. That doesn't make sense.

The OH game still hasn't started.

I'm betting on late afternoon thunderstorms, it's suddenly extremely hot and muggy.

Every scorecard you see with Evans he's miserly, but just isn't getting the poles.
ZCF Hall of Famer
135/6. Mountaineers look a bit thin in the batting dept.

Shame that Musakadza is missing with a injury, think Williams also has a niggle.

Big call for the Eagles putting 19 year old Rodney Mupfudza in at 3 against a good Mountaineers new ball attack. With a name like that Rodneymania has a good ring to it 😂

How can there be so many injuries with no cricket being played
ZCF Hall of Famer
The rain is back, it strangely seems to be at night that it's kicking in.
ZCF Hall of Famer
The sun is out, but there will be more build up. I think the overcast drizzle is over and the thunderstorms are back.

I see Evans did well with the bat, a 50 would have been good on his resumé.

Yeah, those squads look very inflated. Does everyone get paid regardless of if they play?

Inflated squads in itself are a problem.

I'm guessing its whoever goes into the bubble. I think about 13/14 went into this bubble. There's a dilemma because the teams will be slightly different for the 50 over games plus if there's no rotation whatsoever there will be some glum faces. My guess is that a few of the better guys that specialise in a particular format may get paid regardless.

There are lean times ahead for most of the players.

I want to see what Frost has to offer. Has anybody seen him bat? I think I saw him ever so briefly in the 2018 Under 19 CWC but that was it

Any reason why masakadza and the zim cricket brains trust could not lure kudzai matigimu for the four day games. Masakadza himself has called out Tanaka chivanga and others with serious pace who perhaps reside in South Africa but can offer us something with the ball for the national team

It sounds like he might be trying to become SA qualified.

I haven't seen him bowl in years, but I believe he's going well.

He will be swimming upstream in their cricket. Ex Zim black rugby players have been welcomed and done well, but I don't know whether the courtesy will be extended to cricketers, they've got a lot of local lads vying for spots. I wonder if they ever had a serious chat with Madhevere along the way, he was at school there for years and did very well and they're desperate for black batters.

The SA schools are the same as the UK ones, they get gov incentives for giving scholarships to talented overseas kids, but once they're out of the school system there's no help, you sink or swim on your own unless you're a potential superstar.

Which brings me to Muyeye, I wonder what his plan is. He's obviously focusing on academics, and that visa doesn't count towards your residency. The years he's been there doesn't count for anything. If ECB or a county were ever going to pull a slippery move it would be for him.

The general population here think that the English can't wait to snare our best players, but that's not true. Theyve got more than enough of their own. You have to kick the door down.

You are 2/3 right.

It’s also why they put a cap on overseas players, to aggressively protect their own playing pool (different from say EPL) and it is similar to the model Aussie sports philosophy use where you need to gehebrally play local to get rep honours and rarely import.

However for a sublime talent, England cricket has been known to pull the necessary strings to make it an easy ride.

You have to not just be good enough to maybe make the England side, but someone who is clearly earmarked for a value add.

Archer was the most recent.

They wouldn’t just do it for someone who’s county level though.

If someone like Will Pucovski tried to do it, watch the red variety rolled out.

It feels to me that SA have no troubles producing black fast bowlers but batsmen. Common trait in the black cricketing world.

It’s a matter of time before they start poaching a few of our guys.

Very surprised Wes wasn’t poached to be honest.
