It wouldn't surprise me. His body already looked spent when he came back to Zim, even though he could compensate that to an extent, having become a more clever bowler. He has really been plagued by injuried throughout his career. A shame nevertheless if true.

And with the bowling criteria listed our best bowler, Blessing, is also a Grade C. You need to be taking 5 wickets per match to be Grade A, 4 wickets to be Grade B and 2.5 wickets to be Grade C.

Will they receive USD or bond equivalent and if so at what rate? Tax threshold here is Bond 5000 ($50) and Bond 100000 ($1000) attracts 40% tax. Its messed up here, not easy to live.

Taylor scored a solid 51* today in the LPL.

What kind of league is this though? They have all the national Sri Lankan players in the mix, and the footage has all the big commentators, yet I’m seeing Munaf Patel, Afridi, Irfan Pathan etc playing. I mean Munaf Patel?!

LPL is probably at the same standard as the BPL based on the names you threw out.

The batting/bowling averages are only for the bonuses as far as I understand.

If you have a Grade A contract you have to average 45 to get your bonus etc.

How do these figures fare compared to the general population?

What would a KFC manager get for example?

Aren't all these a/higher contracts statistically gonna go to the likes of BT , chatara etc who are already earning the pick bucks? It's tough at the bottom.

Taylor is the most likely to average 45.

Heres a tactic, get a 50 first week and pull an injury 😂

Middle management probably earns 500. Most people are on less than 200. General hands are getting less than 100. 300 is decent for a young kid in the current environmental. $1400 is a very good salary in these conditions. A national contract is putting you on a CEO package . It’s messed up.

It looks like the Logan Cup has been further delayed until the 9th of December, the reasons cited are that its proving problematic putting the bio-bubble in place.

I don't think any of the players have seen a contract yet either.

If they do start on the 9th I wonder when they will break for Xmas? I know Zimbos well and if you ask them to work or play over the festive season it would be easier to ask them for a kidney. For certain sure you're not keeping them in a bubble unless you have armed guards. 😂

I agree that national players should get above and beyond a CEO. That pretty much the case anywhere really in sport. CEO of a smaller organisation anyway.

Cricket is a global sport competing against some teams where the lowest paid individual is still a millionaire. All the Indians would be millionaires, as well as most Aussie and Englishmen at least. Even the West Indians would be up there as most are IPL stalwarts.

You can’t compare It to the dire local situation.

These guys only have 10-15 years to earn their money and they have to make the most of it.

All our guys will be forgotten outside of this forum when in their forties (has anyone heard mainstream cricket talk about Ray Price lately?) They need to make bank and get p***y while the suns still shining for them. Even our best aren’t world class.

I'm not sure we're missing much over the next week, there's rain forecast. Having said that, today was supposed to be overcast and raining, but its been very cool and reasonably clear.

But....

These middle of the road guys.

The losers by international standards but consistent performers in the Logan Cup, Maruma etc, are on fair wages if middle management is 500. He would be getting double that.

If he thinks he can do better, lol he can try. Will look forward to him and Warner Finch opening the batting for Australia in a few years.

Heard they postponed the start to next week. Don’t know how true this is. Apparently they still sorting out logistics.

Problem is Christmas is around the corner and our guys love a good holiday. Don’t see any of them being keen to be stuck in a bubble during Christmas but the job is the job .

Oscar Kolk is playing for the Eagles and so is Brad Evans
ZCF Hall of Famer
Thought Kolk had been turned down by all the franchises?

Logan Cup has been moved back a week to allow for covid tests. Will now start on the 9th.
