Evans and Diplock are two blokes to be given a FC shot for sure, although I understand the latter isn’t interested anymore and is looking to head abroad. Serious swing bowler who could have developed into a very good ODI bowler for Zimbabwe.

Evans is the son of former national cricketer Craig Evans.

Oh Wow! I remember a great partnership between Evans & Paul Strang in a rain truncated match in South Africa tri-series where they defeated India in a thriller. Craig was a hitter but failed in Sri Lanka.

Anyone with any questions about anyone or anything feel free to ask.

Any connection between the Patels -Asfak and Nadeem? How's Aarsh Jha?

Isn't this the same Taun Harrison who played u19, or is he a different one. Anyway he took 3 wickets. But Harare Kings got destroyed by Takashinga Patriots.

I can't believe he's rocked up and started playing after what I said earlier in the thread 😂

He's taken 3 wickets as well at a decent lick. Absolutely one to be considered for FC cricket if he's around to stay.

Evans wicketless again but very ecanomical.

Cricket can be a funny game, highly touted bowlers like Evans can barely buy a wicket, then these random guys like Bechani and Mutsamba and Muchawaya are taking wickets 6,7 & 5 a piece !!!!

Fringe National team players clearly haven't learnt their lesson, PJ Moor in particular. Why hasn't he been playing NPL2020??

Also the likes of Regis, Jongwe & Maruma haven't resurfaced since they were released from national team camp.

Does Moor even like playing cricket?

Hmmmm, I think we may find that a couple of players call it a day over the next couple of months.

Although on the bright side. Ben Curran wants to play in the Logan Cup, I think decisions over squads are being made in the next couple of days. No fixtures though.

I assume you’re talking about current national team players, not the old fellas in the boozer league?

Not in the current squad but not far from it. Can't say any more at the moment. Contracts are about to be awarded which will make decisions for a number of players over their futures.

Franchise slots being allocated this week I think,

That's really interesting.

There seems to be a little bit of money in the system finally. It has a feeling of 2009 to it, when the franchise system first came into effect.

It would be absolutely brilliant if we could get Ben Curran, Welch, Evans and Musakanda in the FC system. Throw in some overseas pro's and there's some depth there.

People screaming for Ballance to come back, Ben Curran would be a better bet

So this is where all the white cricketers are these days, the Harare Friendlies League.

aka. Salisbury Friendlies League, including one team of Rhodesian Doctors.

Not actually Rhodesian Doctors - it is called Rhodocs (I played for them) and the name was coined when the two clubs of ex-Rhodes University graduates and of Doctors combined quite long ago. So the 'Rho' stands for Rhodes University in South Africa, which many players attended!

Why do you say that? Ballance is a proven player. I'm not downing Ben C, he may well become one, but Ballance is the proven real deal. He should have been given more opportunity in the England side. He had an ugly spell against Australia, but a good player like that sorts it out.

He is exactly what Zim needs, proper ability and years of experience.
