It’s a joke isn’t it

ZC twitter page hasn’t posted anything about the squad, training camp or tour

Remember that time when they were responding to tweets and interacting with fans and being all sociable and everyone got excited because they thought things had changed....

You would honestly get more info off the players own accounts and random cricket journos like Brickhill and Holme than you would off of ZC.

Same players as normal from what I understand. Hamilton is back with Ryan Burl missing out. BT back.
ZCF Hall of Famer
The players have not been told as far as I know.

Dutch Embassy in Zim tweeted this yesterday along with a photo of some of the guys. Sorry I'm not too sure how to upload photos so here is the link: https://twitter.com/nlinzimbabwe?lang=en

Hey @KNCBcricket, @ZimCricketv were at the Embassy today & are en route for battle 🏏. Look forward to some great games from 19-25 June. Fingers crossed🤞🏽#Netherlands reverse the score of the 1st ever #ZimvNL clash in 1986 when Zim won at Lord's in the ICC trophy final.🇳🇱🏆🇿🇼

Honestly still cant understand Hammy as our captain and Burl being left out if true. This is a perfect opportunity to get some youngsters in to the side.

Well if they’re already in Holland than the squad must have been picked, no announcement yet though, so frustrating !!!!

If they weren’t going to blood new guys against the UAE they’re not going to do it now, these two series are both very winnable but are also series they could lose.

Another thing to remember is that it’s half way through the year and Zimbabwe has played 4 ODI’s against the UAE, it’s hard to tell guys like BT, Hami, KJ etc to sit out and let the youngsters have a go when there’s such precious little cricket to be played.

In a perfect world they’d have played a lot more against the Big sides and then used series against associates to blood players.
Does anyone know who the players might be in the squad?

Not yet in Holland. That tweet is in Harare from the Dutch embassy in Harare.

I also would not drop BT and KJ. I would also take Hami along, but I would not use him as captain or a certain opener. He goes to help blood the next top order players and also serve as a back up in case needed.

Oh I see I read that the other way lol

As I said In a perfect world the tour of India would have went ahead as planned where they would have obviously gone full strength.

The next series against UAE would have been a chance to try two or three different guys per match to make sure they still had a strong squad to ensure victory whilst also blooding guys.

Then the series against Afghanistan would have been another series where they went full strength.

By this point looking towards the European tours some of the new guys they fired out would have ideally shown enough to warrant a spot on the tour.

Tari is a great prospect but needs to be managed and coached to perfect his game. Mr Tari is a great supporter of the right way to do things and is in the mix with the harare boards and probably said more than he should and the likes of Muks and Maks punish his son for it as that is the depth of them.

Regards the team probably lots of twittering on Monday as the ZC board meets in Vic Falls this weekend to pick themselves again......yes it is that time again of elections.

The good news in Matabeleland is that Vumi Moyo was disqualified to be on the Board and slunk off in embarrassment with dreadlocks between his legs.

Small victories.

So Regis Chakabva gets man of the series and is then dropped for the next series and is replaced by Mutumbami.

Chigumbura continues. Need to coin new words to describe how some of us might be feeling.

Rest of the squad looks good.

I’d like to see that ZC bill from the Falls. I’d also like to be in charge of the bungee jumping for a couple of days, and they’d be doing it at gunpoint. 😂

There is a great story about the selection of Ryan Burl which I am afraid I am unable to share. Lets just say he is in the squad in name only.
ZCF Hall of Famer
I know ZCB not a very efficient organisation but the way you guys find problems with everything they do is also not acceptable.

I think overall this is a good squad. Probably they had a clear criteria that attending the training camp is mandatory for selection and hence Chakabva is not selected. Overall a good squad, all the key players are available and selected, I think they should win all the games.

I really wonder what messages it send to the youngsters like tari, mumba and murray when they are left out like this. I wonder what the selectors still see in Elton that we dont since he nolonger bowls, hardly gets to 20 and Richie, the lesser said the better.

Is it a case of it being Jobs for the boys or Playback time since Waller enjoyed the same priviledge under streaky and cremer. This is so heartbreaking

Does anyone know how Tari is doing over there? I really find that bizarre that he’s not in the mix. There’s more to that story. Guys who go there and don’t at least play prem club I think are wasting their time. I also heard that Milton Shumba is over in the UK yet the U19’s seem to practice and play fairly regularly. I do think that playing some English club cricket is a good thing to do at least once, but these days I don’t think you can unless you’ve played representative cricket. This means really good players are going to play a lower standard. The only reason to do that is just to keep your eye in during the off season and to go walkabout.

We really need A tours, our cricket is being sabotaged. Everyone always talks about Burl but he’s played so little cricket over the last few seasons he must surely by now be a lesser player than he was.

He scored a ton on debut for his club and a five for a I believe then went quiet for 5 weeks and got a ton again on the weekend !

This squad is boring and safe , we are playing the freaking dutch for god sakes !! Where is murray , mumba , musakanda ?Why was Regis dropped after a Man of the series performance ? All this doesn’t make sense and I’m starting to get over seeing Elton’s name there !why is he there ? What does he possibly bring to the squad? f**k me dead

Give me one good reason why Chigumbura or Mutumbami should be in the squad
