Even our lowly FC is a step up from what Madhevere is probably expecting. If he makes an impression against India, England or Pakistan maybe he will do ok in FC, getting MoM against Canada is not enough. I don’t think he will find it that easy.
The men here in FC won’t just make way for him, everyone is batting for a spot because the only place that pays is in the National side. He has some ability, but most of cricket at the higher levels is played between the ears.
This is true. Everybody is fighting for maybe 16 contracts. Literally for survival. We have seen Mavuta Jongwe Ngarava Munyonga Magarira and a whole lot of youngsters do well in spells but there is no consistency. It's not as easy as they think. Also add that there are maybe 6 automatic contracts (BT Jarvis Ervine Williams Raza Chatara) and maybe 3 token contracts for their buddies, 100 guys are fighting for maybe 5 contracts.
