I think there’s a lot of rain and weather around so I’m suspecting England won the toss and put us in. At least I’m hoping that’s the reason because the lads are about to get a beating.

This Balderson is clearly a good player, captain and bowling all rounder, but he keeps claiming he’s an opening leftie as well. Signed already by Lancs but hasn’t cracked the First team yet. He’s done the early damage.
Most of these Pom kids look like they’ve got a vitamin deficiency, but some of them can surely play!

I recall in the late 70’s and early 80’s the England schools rugby team used to tour here and we’d take a look at them and think - we’re actually going to kill these guys, it doesn’t look a fair fight, and they’d nearly always beat us. Just well drilled and a helluva lot tougher than they looked.
They’re picking their cricket team basically from 18 counties- guys who’ve cracked the county academy sides and even a few already with professional contracts.
Surrey has something crazy like 2000 feeder schools alone, but realistically only about 30 or so play good cricket.

Nearly all the England squad are 19 which means they left school in June 2019.
