Ok ZCF following the great tradition of the Photo Quiz we are going to start a Stats quiz and general stats discussion page to add another dimension to the forum.

I think the scoring system can match the Photo Quiz. Questioners, please update the scores when a correct answer is given.

When asking a question, please be specific about your statistical category to avoid confusion.

Also freely use this thread to discuss stats issues more deeply around the quiz questions as well.

I am going to take the liberty of importing cricket_22001's question about Logan Cup runs to get us started.

1. "Mutizwa has played 83 FC matches, 77 are Logan Cup. One test, one Zim 'A' match plus 4 for the Zimbabwe XI in the Inter-continental Cup make up his career. These figures do not include the current fixture. He is one of 6 players to have scored over 4000 runs in the Logan Cup & is currently in 3rd spot. (Trivia: Does anyone know the other 5?)"
most runs conceded off a single over?

Was that the match where Marillier whipped out the scoop shot for the first time?

Something to do with 10 Zimbabwean batsman making double figures ?

I remember watching this match and started liking Trevor Madondo. He played really well till he got out. Had some strike rotation issues to begin with, but for a youngster trying to find his feet, he was way better than many others who got into the team after him in years that followed.

This was also one of those rare matches where Murphy matched his hype. He was in control mostly and I remember him bowling very well.

Whittall was carrying an injury and could not bowl, and Marilliar was still primarily a batsman at the time, which explains that horrid over by Campbell :)

Coming back to the question itself. I remember the death over butchering by Agarkar which meant that he scored the fastest 50 by an Indian in ODIs (matched by Dravid later if I remember correctly - in 21 balls). Don't think that is the stat you are ;looking for.

Then did a bit of exploration and found out this:

This Rajkot ODI happens to be the last ODI in history to be played with red balls and white clothing!

Can someone explain to me why they played ODI cricket in whites with a red ball??

Seems odd considering ODI cricket started with coloured clothing & a white ball
ZCF OriginalZCF Hall of Famer
Wsc started with coloured clothing but ODI cricket started with whites.

Future trivia question: which team played their last international match on the same day as the 2019 World Cup final?

:(

Kuwait and Vanuatu are playing international cricket now. We'll still be able to play Botswana.

In that case, the trivia question could be: which team played their last international match against a "full member" on the same day as the 2019 World Cup final?
ZCF Hall of Famer
It'll probably be someone that's played a ton of matches like AC.

I'll say Grant Flower's 34.

Thanks for the question Crimson.

I can only see Elton close to Grant with 29.

I missed Jarvis' 300th FC wicket. So good to see him bowling with so many questions for the batsmen.

He's passed Blignaut's total for Zim this game too.

Hami moves past Guy Whittall's test runs total.

Now 4th behind Flowers & Campbell.
