Opening post

Who is the next bowling coach of the Zimbabwe national team after the exit of Charles Langelveldt? There has been no official statement from ZC regarding his resignation or the appointment of a new coach yet

And the statistician?

If we dont win a game there's a good chance Salamander is on his bike as well.

Only guys who would survive a whitewash are Matsi, Mutendira and Chigumbura.

A few of our bowlers could relate to Courtney Walsh on the batting front.

I wonder what that's going to cost?

A bowling consultant because we don't have a bowling coach? Salamander should be able to cover that base anyway.

He's not changing anyone's action, all he's doing is hopefully providing inspiration- c'mon lads, you can do it, line and length. Where's my 50k?

Now if he handed out some lucky gold chains that would be another matter.

Who is our stand-in statistician? The guy that provides the clips of the opposition and helps strategize how to bowl at guys, where to set fields, and what to expect from bowlers if you're a batter.

A lot of that is known, but not all. Its vital info.

I heard Houghton is heading back to UK in March? So is he heading up our HPC or not?

Also heard Eric Chauluka is joining the national side as assistant batting coach. If you're an international batsman that's failing dismally are you tapping into Eric's knowledge or would you rather Ballance or Houghton had a look for a fresh perspective.

Pick a guy who knows as much as, or more than Stuey, not less.

Eric isn't making a difference, Ballance might and he's costing one tenth what Courtney Walsh will be demanding. Houghton is already on the payroll so he's "free"

I wonder who will manage/coach Eagles? I guess it will be via Whatsapp like Matsikenyeri does at Mountaineers.

Theyre missing a trick with the franchise coaching, we don't need any. I'm yet to see one actually do more than arrive late, if at all, and just stand around. We just need aged disinterested player coaches who are bang average and marking time and hoping they can get a stand around job when they retire. We also need someone with an agenda to send poisonous messages from head office...wait...we have a guy that does that already.

Things are extremely dire.

Houghton said in December he was setting up the high performance centre on Deans podcast. I wonder if his heading to England to seek some funding or resources.

Yeah that’s fair Can’t knock it either though, 8 off 6 required, he did what was asked of him as the finisher.

You’d be clutching at straws to find an extended match winning innings from him. Ireland last year is the only one that comes to mind.

I went to the stadium to watch the boys. Being an Indian who has followed zimbabwe cricket passionately for more than 18-19 years, I had High hopes. It was unreal feeling to see the boys in real. Coming to the game. It was a nightmare experience. While watching on Tv you can switch off whenever you're team is not doing well. But no such option in the stadium. The entire first innings so suffocating as a supporter. Those catches dropped were very routine could have changed the entire complexion. In hindsight, probably should have batted first. Atleast we would remained in the game longer. Things to notice were majority of the crowd was supporting zim and people really rate Raza high. As soon as he was dismissed. Half of the stadium moved out including me. Bottom line is it's very difficult to watch a game in the stadium when your team is being hamerred.you feel terrible with no option to unsee whatever is happening.

Just watched the highlights, unfortunately they cut out most of Myers innings.

If Brad could do that more consistently with the bat, it would add more balance and depth to the side.

Tony hit that like a tracer bullet straight to the fielder. I would keep him in for the next game but Musekiwa i would drop/rotate for Curran.

Like Doggy has said, some of these blokes can be 12th man and just field.

What a game. Thats how you try chase down an impossible total. The key to that is everyone up to number 9 has to be able to clear the ropes. Thats the future. Flat tracks.. small grounds
Well played to Jacob

22 year old and almost won them the game

Buttler got off to an ok start but went back to his usual cross batted hits and missed out. 9 dots, only if he had focused on timing the ball , powerplay couldve been 80-2
