Opening post

Great news coming in, looks like ZC and SRC have reached some agreement.

And if Gerry didn’t have a little bit of pull (toothless thug?) these brown envelope muppets wouldn’t be rushing to print retractions as they have. They’ve never been embarrassed to print outright bullshit before. 😂

...........This make me very glad because after over two decades of administration in Zimbabwe Cricket, we finally have evidence of corruption in the form of jobs-for-pals by Kirsty Coventry and the President's son-in-law. And I'm so ecstatic that Hogg and Ellman-Brown are the beneficiaries. This is what real corruption looks like ladies and gentlemen. Plus no timeframe! 😂 😂 😂

I didn't bother too quote the lot too much gibberish but nicely laid out with gifs and pictures so at least something to laugh at.

Too sum it up you either

1)Expect SRC to be saving face by having these non-entity concessions and letting time forget the issue.

or

2)Some ZC personnel are being thrown under the bus(probably the ones Muks particularly doesn't get on with 😂 😂 ) Followed by constitutional changes and perhaps an early election.

Oh and some jail time for the low level gremlins.

Time will tell.

Whilst getting lost if I don’t regularly check on the other thread about the current situation. I thought it would be good to have one thread dedicated to actual fact so the lay man can keep across what is happening!😄 thanks in advance.
ZCF Hall of Famer
There is one already. The concrete evidence one.

"Actual fact" as in "factual events" as the situation developes; e.g. actual further steps taken by the parties etc.

Good advice ;)

That's a different topic altogether ZIMDOGGY, I think Terryalderman means more along the lines of, from day to day what new facts (undisputed and can be sourced) have we learned?

eg.

Only a few players and staff turned up on August 1, the majority did not

Forumites who claimed to have been part of the anti-ZC process - alongside SRC and Interim Board - were lying.

Very funny.

Very funny.

On the contrary not at all. It's very serious. This is after all a forum, and forums serve a purpose. And to me that's the most significant fact as far as a forum is/should be concerned.

I read the posts. And my reading tells me that if some characters here hadn't given you the impression that they are in very much in the loop, and actively part of the "reform actions", lobbying support among staff, players and administrators for a successful assault, then I doubt many of you would have supported this without considering the key questions and implications. It's called emotional fraud. ;)

Anyway, all this can be taken back to the other thread because this is for something else. But I would love a poll on just how many rode on sentiment spread by so-called instigators, and would have rather held back were it not for that.

Standards have dropped so far that Encores comment seems to be the level his water has found.

Encore can't tell the difference between right and wrong or is on the band wagon(ZC or Bvutes in SA) and so is dancing to a preplayed tune.

The travesty of this swinging moral compass doesn't just affect ZC but the entire country. Everyone except myself of course :)

The reality is with suspended ZC our country is doomed to cricket mediocrity akin to Kenya and worse.

With the SRC and the interim board you will see more ex cricketers getting involved, more experienced coaches coming back to zim and inputting their decades of knowledge, players will be retained and cricket spread properly round the country . Make no mistake SRC doesn't have the money as it's not supposed too BUT there is millions ready to be pumped into cricket as sponsorship because the business trust VH EDB and GM.

At present and in past years no one has sponsored ZC seriously as the entire nation knows it goes into the top echelon pockets... just the ICC and encore don't see this

Just thought i'd casually mention our Sables beat Zambia and Uganda and top the Africa table at the moment.... seems the slow turn around is working for Titan Law and GM.

We can only hope for a similar organisation in ZC. :W:

Encore aka Hhm is a troll. Fact, not just an opinion.

Pepsi, Spar, FastJet, etc... if these companies are willing to ignore a little T20 carnival then obviously the appetite exists to sponsor cricket.

Who are ZC's major sponsors? Well just go to their website and find out: https://zimcricket.org/index.php?option ... Itemid=136

Job very well done.

This hurts ZC the most. Their only source of income was the ICC handout they lacked the resource or brains or integrity to create a brand full of sponsorship so guess the ZC and crooked workers now have to go find a real job 😂 😂

The players don't give a f**k they have either made money or not and will just move on probably earning more money selling chewing gum on the street corner.

ZC shouldn't have gone running to ICC begging them for action against interferences.......they should have listened to the SRC and done as they were told.

BCB have confirmed that Zimbabwe will take part in the tri series in September as planned.
ZCF Hall of Famer
Unless ED flies them there is his Dubai jet that isn’t his jet and charges the taxpayer 10 million they’re not going anywhere.
ZCF Hall of Famer
Pretty much confirmed Google, but who is sending the team, new board or old board? Which board has contacted BCB and made this commitment?
ZCF OriginalVeteran
A deal is almost finalized so I guess it will be the board they agreed on. Where they will get the money for flights and daily allowances I dont know. I guess we will be playing cricket again from November. They might as well ask the Windies if they are free so that they can fullfill that original FTP tour since the t20 is old news now.

Honestly speaking when I think about the way Ireland and the Netherlands were flaming us I doubt we would would have made the t20 world cup anyway. Our players dont like pressure. We are not good at that format and we barely play enough of it. Maybe 2021

What the resolution reached by Zimbabwe Cricket and SRC entails

The spat between Zimbabwe's Sports and Recreation Commission and Zimbabwe Cricket appears to have reached a resolution. On Thursday the SRC announced that the dispute had been settled, with all parties agreeing to an "Order by Consent", with the matter now pending before an administrative court. Zimbabwe Cricket's directors will be reinstated once the registrar of that court issues an order to that effect, and the interim committee will be dissolved.

There's a lot of legal jargon there. What does this all actually mean?

Basically, it means that the SRC blinked first.

They made it known in their presentation at the ICC Board meeting in July that they felt that they had grounds to suspend the ZC board, alleging electoral irregularities in the board election, as well as various other allegations. Their suspension of the board was within their powers under the act of Parliament that created the SRC, but the ICC's perception was that it constituted unacceptable interference in cricket affairs, violating the laws to which ICC member nations have to adhere. In the meantime, the ZC board took the matter to court, appealing against the SRC's original suspension.

Still, the SRC stood their ground for a while, but as the collateral damage started to mount, with both the men's and women's sides stripped of their chance to compete at the T20 World Cup Qualifiers and the threat of expulsion looming, a resolution to the conflict became the only option.

Sports Minister Kirsty Coventry engineered a series of meetings between the ZC board and the SRC last week. A settlement was found, and the court order - once it is issued - will make that settlement official.

Liam is really stealing a career as a journalist here!!! Then again, this is what today's journalism amounts to.

How on earth do you fail to lambast the SRC and it's former ZC(U) men - (Vince Hogg and Dave Ellman-Brown - a former ZOC and SRC person himself(?)) - for failing to convert their "allegations" into fact first before acting, as well as for failing to get a court order interdicting the ZC AGM from going ahead with the elections?

ZC have facts on their side which is why SRC failed to defend the matter in court. They ran away from getting a very serious and negative judgement against them and Kirsty Coventry. Things got legal, and the real criminals faced having their names and reputations being tarnished by judges in judgements that would remain forever. Mlotshwa sought to protect his reputation and that of his firm. He's a toothless thug!

After the collateral damage which you refer to - which they were entirely responsible for - surely it was only responsible for them to deal with this mater in court, and trust themselves to return to the ICC with a court order which legitimises their action and the ICC lifts the suspension with their interim board in place for "clean" cricket to resume in Zimbabwe.

What was the point - having lost the men and women slots in the T20CWC qualifiers - to then rush and seek to lift a suspension so that Zimbabwe can basically play away to Bangladesh :?: This doesn't make sense :!: :x

If this was to ensure that the domestic season can start - with conciliatory funds from the government for this blunder then it would make sense.

However, that and saving T20CWC was not the intention, and there is still well over 50 days within which court proceedings could have been concluded on an urgent basi to give direction to the ICC, Sports Ministry, SRC, ZC, Players, Fans and Sponsors.

Go through with the courts case and justify your behaviour and actions! This is not the ICC domain but laws of the land, which the ICC would inevitably have to honour and respect based on a court judgement!

I have said it before and I will continue to say it. These guys serve up gutter journalism time and again. Ask the right questions, and report the relevant arguments.

Prove your case you cowardly bullies! What sickening arrogance and selfishness.

But while the SRC's latest statement essentially brought the dispute to an end, it was somewhat light on detail. Will the board be reinstated in its entirety? What was agreed at the meetings between ZC and the SRC? These details could well be important when the ICC meet and discuss Zimbabwe's suspension.

There's been articles which have already said ZC Board and Acting MD Makoni will be restored as is. So I don't know why a proper journalist would ask that question, instead of seeking answers as to why SRC "blinked" or didn't see the court process through! This is really shocking journalism. Cricinfo and the rest of the cricekt world don;t really care about ZImbabwe or Zimbabwe Cricket, but whoever the Editor is shouldn't be publishing such trash without editing it properly. No way the crises in India(BCCI) and Sri Lanka(SLC) would have been sunbjected to such woeful reporting by Cricinfo.

John Ward shouldn't limit himself to just domestic cricket match reports. He must try and work with Cricinfo and Cricbuzz as well. Someone gave a personal account somewhere in which they said John is an Englishman ... from England. That was new.
