Series/Tournament: India tour of Zimbabwe 2026
Dates: 2026 Jul 23 to 2026 Jul 26
Teams: Zimbabwe flag India flag

India's brief tour of Zimbabwe July 2026. India have a point to prove after a poor display in Ireland and England. I suspect they will come hard at us.

India squad: Shreyas Iyer (C), Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma (VC), Ishan Kishan (WK), Shivam Dube, Suryansh Shedge, Rinku Singh, Harsh Dubey, Varun Chakaravarthy, Prince Yadav, Yash Thakur, Ashok Sharma, Mayank Yadav, Prabhsimran Singh (WK)

Sooryavanshi has a point to prove. England wasn't too kind to him and this is a chance at redemption. I look forward to his battles with Muzarabani.

These Indian T20 batsmen don't look so good once they aren't playing on the roads prepared for IPL matches.

This just shows our lack of talent pool, in what world would Tsiga ( who couldn't make it to the odi squad) find himself in the T20 one? His domestic stats itself are nothing great either ( i dont recall him even playing the domestic T20 this season). Just bring in one of the campbells or even Taruvinga atp.

Hope they can develop Chimuguro into the finisher role, the lad has the ability to hit the ball long, if they mould him, he can fit the jigsaw

Batting woes which have been papered over for a while thanks to Bennett and Raza now starting to be a concern.

They've finally given up on Musekiwa but bringing back Wes doesn't fill me with confidence. We really need Naqvi at 4.

I'd bring back Jongwe for some late-order hitting at this stage!

Keeper for a keeper. He did play in the Domestic T20s, was replaced by Lennox Chando though!

Clive probably still would have been in the squad, if Zim properly rested players or changed the team line ups.
Yeah Tsiga seems a strange call especially if Maru still has the gloves, for all the critisism that Clive recieved for his role in the team, replacing him with someone with an equally if not more unpersuasive domestic record while also being 6 years older doesn't make a great deal of sense

Still looking forward to this. Not wildly optimistic in terms of overall results, but this bowling attack at least gives Zimbabwe half a chance
This would be my XI:
Bennett
Maru
Myers
Curran
Wes
Burl
Raza
Evans
Nyamhuri
Ngarava
Muza

Raza is at 7 because he hasn't been able to convert his starts to big scores lately. Too low perhaps (I don't remember him batting that low ever in his career) but now I'd say he would fit there.
This XI gives the problem of too many anchors though.

Shumba ruled out, Kaia called up

From what I gather Kaia isn't that much of a T20 player. Goes to show how thin our T20 batting is.

I remember his dean at stumps interview where he hinted at that himself. An in form Kaia is atleast something.

Gee Tony must feel a little stiff.

Agreed. I like Kaia as a cricketer but T20 definitely his weakest format.

Tony definitely seems closer to like for like with Shumba too
