I think this needs it's own thread. I believe they're going to allocate players to teams to supposedly try and make it fairer.
Also will be interesting who "they" put in what team.
Who are "they?"
Is this Mutendira showing us his skills again?
I'm not sure why they're still calling it franchise cricket?
You can't call it provincial cricket either because few people will come from those areas and we await to see where they're actually going to play the cricket.
I did hear that Dave Houghton might be Rocks coach. I'm not sure he'd be too happy with the traveling, he seems to be in Rajput territory- full salary and isn't around.
I'm hoping they're potentially re-allocating platers due to the high plater volume since the NPL. Lads like Banks, Schardendorf snr and maybe a few others from the Rangers squad have made it pretty difficult to ignore.
Banks has gone to Uni. Schadendorf was in the Rocks side.
The guy they should be making a space for is Jarrod Basson, technically very good, a lot better than a lot of the other fc players, and he's an opener, and he can bowl leg spin, but they won't.
Also Clive Chitumba deserves a fc spot, and he'll get one. Spot the problem?
I didn't see his name last season, but he had a really good NPL, a bit inconsistent, but still did enough.
Ya i like the look of Ali Aqil. He's put in some consistent scores, which was always his problem.
Basson works, but I've heard he'd like to give it a go.
It's an uphill struggle though- white, played for Rangers, a bit older etc. He'd have to have a blistering couple of seasons to be in with a shout, and it would have to coincide with the Chosen ones getting 10 ducks in a row each.
