Zimbabwe cricketer Sikandar Raza Butt is contemplating a switch in his career, with uncertainty continuing to haunt the future of cricket in Zimbabwe. The country continues to suffer in terms of economy, and the recent Corona virus outbreak has every possibility of making the matters even worse.
Off-spinning all-rounder Raza said that he is now a family man and that he has to think of all the possibilities to provide for them and to ensure that he can give his children quality education. Young kids Eessa and Anaya were playing cricket in the backyard with toy bats even as Raza explained his future plans.
Raza has trained as a pilot during his education in Scotland and he recently met Travis Friend, now an established pilot with Qatar Airways. The meeting happened when Raza was returinign back home from the recently concluded Bangladesh series. Friend appears to have introduced Raza to some of his contacts and that has led to Raza getting an offer of training as a fighter pilot in the Middle East. While further details are awaited, Raza said that he was excited about the offer. He said that Zimbabwe cricket continues to be at the core of his heart, but he is considering the offer with all seriousness. He said he would take a final decision within a week's time.
