WTC: Bangladesh tour of West Indies 2022

First Test at Antigua, where Bangladesh was 43 all out last time.

BD team is riddled with injuries and Mushfiqur Rahim will miss the entire tour as he has gone for the Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca.

With only a home series against India remaining, this is Bangladesh's last realistic chance to grab a win in this WTC cycle.

I reckon BD have a better chance at home against India then here. West Indies bowling is pretty scary

Toss just minutes away. Last time Bangladesh were at this ground, they were bundled for 43 all out.

Bangladesh top order are under tremendous pressure as they enter this series in the worst form possible.

Bangladesh's recent top order woes are unprecedented and unfathomably bad. They have posted a few decent totals, but thats always been due to Mushfiq and Liton recovering the innings. The first 5 wickets have fallen at the following scores over the past year:

43-5

255-5

98-5

46-5

361-5

128-5

27-5

16-5

101-5

38-5

122-5

385-5

24-5

53-5

Take out the 3 outlier scores, and the average is probably 50 runs for the loss of the 5th wicket. Putrid.

And sure enough Windies win and toss and put us in. Bangladesh need to score big up front for once.

Caught a bit of this earlier - grand total of about 20 spectators in the stadium. Sad how caribbean cricket has fallen.

Especially those fast bowlers. Jayden Seales is unbelievable for his age. Dude likes test circket too

Bangladesh, after starting the new year so positively in test cricket, have fallen apart drastically.

I expected better from them and Bangladesh would themselves know that they are better than some of their recent test results.

Surely. The fast bowlers have done an admirable job this year. Not a whole lot of wickets to show for their efforts, but still way better than what they've produced in previous years.

Yeah fast bowlers have been unlucky they have such a poor batting lineup to play with. The batting shoudlnt even be this bad. Just a really horrid mindset I guess. Though the WIndies bowling attack is not easy to play

Yeah Windies have a solid pace attack nowadays. I hope Shannon Gabriel comes back soon. Lion hearted bowler. But I really do love Seales and especially Alzarri. The latter probably has the smoothest bowling action in cricket history.

Gabriel might have one more series left but I doubt he`ll really come back. They have a great 5 man bowling attack right now. Shame theyre so awful at batting. Just need one more 35+ batter to team up with Brathwaite and co

Shakib has looked good lately and very determined. I agree on the WI having a pretty solid bowling attack now, what is letting them down often is their batting.
West Indies should win this.
West Indies need 84 runs to win the game.

Good fight from Shakib and Nurul. Rest flopped badly.
Roach now has 249 Test wickets. Got a 5-fer.

Quite underrated.

It may be said Roach is the one who started Ricky Ponting’s batting decline. He bounced Ponting who was beaten for pace & ended up wearing it on the noggin. He’s obviously lost pace now but cricinfo has an article on his recent stats & they are impressive. Windies touring Australia this summer apparently.

Ebadot, who makes Chris Martin look like Martin Crowe, made a red ink 21 in the second test! He was let down by Khaled Ahmed who was dismissed for 1. But lifted his own batting average by 0.06. Add Mominul & Shanto to the mix & one third of the team have been walking wickets.

Kriterion Idk how you are coping with this. I`m genuinely confused as to how BD have become such mental midgets. Change of coach needed maybe?

Alzari Joseph has been bowling heat recently. He clocked at 152kph against Pakistan, which is insane.

There's some pace there and a lot of talent. They've got some good bowlers coming through and the fast bowling culture appears to be back in the team. Wen was the last time a West Indies side fielded 4 genuine quick bowlers without a specialist spinner?

I'm excited about this west indies test side. The ODI side and T20 side are neither here nor there. They have stupid amounts of talent but probably not the brains to succeed. The test side, however, has had more success in recent times than they have for ages.

Long may it continue. The world needs a strong West Indies and a strong Sri Lanka, and it looks like both sides are starting to climb up.
