😂 It was so wierd, i thought i was awake whatching it on TV. I swear i thought it was actually happening, and yes i know it's very detailed because i can remember every little detail :) It's was all until i opened my eyes 😂

When he was interviewed on TV his had a slight Zimbabwean twang to his accent, he also has been playing in Zimbabwe for about 6 years now so imagine he would be available through the residency rule, but we shall see. Would like to see him play a full domestic season first.

His debut was in 2006/07, and he hasn't scored a first class half century since his 84 the other day. Says a lot to me :?

ShareBeen following Zim cricket for awhile now. For some reason I became a big fan.
Anyway, I think this was a very well selected squad. With few exceptions, these are the names you see atop the domestic stats and that's how it should be. Personally, I would've opted for just three frontline spinners in Price, Cremer, and Maruma. Maruma's called up was well deserved btw. I don't agree with Utseya's selection but I understand the selectors reluctance to drop him since he has been groomed for the captaincy role. I would've opted for Meth instead. Mutiza could've potentially been selected ahead of Coventry. I fully expect this team to give WI a good fight

ShareI think the selection is spot on. Im really glad Vusi Sibanda is in the sqaud he is a class player, looks soo good when in top form and has been in awesome form in the domestic leagues, I think he will shine against the west Indies. I think Masakadza Will be leading run scorer for Zim thes series...he is a run machine!

I'm tipping BRM to top the tally this series. He should enjoy the pace and bounce of the West Indian wickets. :D

Talyor will definately not enjoy the pace and bounce of the West Indian wickets. For me he is suspect against the new ball, has a trigger half-front foot action and thus zero footwork.
He only seems to shine when blasting medium pacers and mediocre spinners. His running between the wickets is appaling, and frankly I don't quite understand the favour he generates in these columns. One big innings and a then string of failures follow! Where is the consistency here that we demand of other players; ie Chibhabha and Stewy? Or even the much aligned Dabengwa, who would be a much better prospect at six than Coventry, if the selection anyway hadnt been impugned by the omission of Forster Mtizwa?

I agree he may be suspect against real pace but so are most batsman in the world.
Yes he may look ungainly at the crease but he was a great combination of mental strength and talant, which for me makes him Zimbabwe's best batsman, i would rather that he didnt open the innings as i think he's a number 4 batsman but due to Sibanda's recent scoring form at number 4 Taylor may have to do the job.

Taylor was one of Zimbabwes most consistant batsmen against Bangladesh at home last August. He scored 99 (i think) 64* and 52. I can't remeber the last time Stewart Matsikinyeri scored three 50's on the run.

West Indian pitches don't have pace and bounce anymore, havn't for at least 10 years. Barbados is probably the only one left. The tracks Zim are playing on will probably be as slow and low as India to be honest...

You're spot on with the wicket in Zimbabwe. They're slow and low. But in the West Indies the wickets possess moe pace and bounce. Yes i know they're slow-er, but they're not totally dead. They still have some life in them, opposed to our Zimbabwean Wickets. So, i just think that players like Vusi Sibanda and Taylor may enjoy the pace more. :roll:

If the wicket is slow , then we can smile , we can send our spin attack and hope they will be effective . Rayzor , Prosper or even Timycen will do the trick fo us .
