I also think it's pretty obvious they're going to play the 6 batsman and then Chigs and Mire which still leaves 2 spare batsman ......

If they had picked one extra seamer instead of a batsman there would have been more options .....

Spot on.

I guess we could see all three quicks starting together later on after both Kamungozi and Utseya have gotten a fair spanking, but surely not for the first match, and probably not for the UAE game either, although that is one match crying out for as much quick bowling as we can muster ...

Cetereo censeo Vitori/Chinouya should have been picked.

dibbly, dobbly and wobbly worked last time there was a world cup down under, perhaps our part timers can step up, Taylor can turn into a Martin Crowe like performer and we can cause a few shocks. :P

Glenn McGrath wasn't a quick bowler and he turned out to be OK :P

It's not all about pace y'know. If you consistently put the ball in the right areas then you'll cause problems.

It'snot all about pace it's about wicket taking ability and when you look at our attack we look more like a restricting type of team, I really hope Whatmore un-leashes Chatara and lets him bowl attacking lines and lengths. Out of all our bowlers I think the conditions will suit him more than any other bowler picked .......

The last WC down under was over 20 years ago the game has changed, i can't see part timers having as big an effect as they did last time, even if teams loose 2 early wickets they keep going @ 5 an over you really need to have them 4-50 or something like that before the good teams will decide to pack it in and look to preserve wickets .......

A lot of teams also bat very deep so they'll just keep going hard or they'll make up the runs later in the innings like the Aussies did against England on sunday .....

Yes, why wait for a partnership, open the bowling with Hami and restrict them right away. No one will have planned for that play!

So, Taylor and Hammy rested, with Regis and Matsi getting a go, and Williams and Ervine getting a hit in the middle too. Mire hitting big at the end again, although Chigs is yet to get to his best.

301 score to defend: http://scoring.blackcaps.co.nz/livescor ... ecard.aspx

Good to see Willy, Ervine, Matsi and Regis make runs here everyone seems to be in form which is great although the quality of the opposition is unknown .....

I really like the look of our batting, with batsman down to 6 then the two big hitting all rounders Mire and Chigs I think we're well designed to chase .....

Let's hope the boys bowl well today ......

The bowling has not gone according to the world cup planning for me, Chigs picking up wickets but being expensive. Chibhabha getting wickets (now he will get to bowl in the more serious matches :( ) and Utseya appears to be tidy (and will get picked now :( )

Prosper's returns does not look that impressive now, thanks to that Hampton guy...
