Opening post

Chibabha

Hamilton

Craig Ervine

Sean Williams

Sikandar Raza( Captain)

PJ Moor/Burl

Chigumbura/Mire?/Jongwe

Malcolm Waller/Greg Lamb/Mutombzodi

AG Cremer

Chatara

Pyanangara

Personally, I think Zimbabwe does pretty well when we have a strong lower order batting ( like Streak/Bliggy/Ervine era). Last year in Bangladesh, we had pathetic middle/ lower order, which was the reason behind our whitewash. Since the return of Cremer I think our lower batting has been doing a good job, and we don't bundle out quickly like before. Whatmore has fixed our opening batting problems, and middle order looks solid as usual. I think it's about time we give opportunities to PJ or Burl( heard he is keeps occaissionaly) as wicket keeper batsman. Chigumbura is OK, but I wouldn't put him in the side solely as batsman. He needs to bowl in every matches, otherwise he doesn't deserve to be in the team. It's better to have energetic and aggressive players such as Nyumbu, Bobby, Raza etc than someone like Chigumbura, Propser or Vusi( look grumpy, lazy and low in confidence) :D . I would give chance to either Mire(if he returns) or to Jongwe in place of Chigs. I like the idea of going with spinners, as we tend to do well in ODIs when we have few good spinners in the side. Remember those days when we had Price, Utseya and Lamb bowling tight spells. Since our fast bowling looks miserable, I would fix this problem by bringing bunch of spinners in the team. However, in test matches I would go with strike bowlers either Vitori or Tripiano along with Chatara. I am positive either one of Jarvis or Keegan Meth would return in a year or so.
ZCF Hall of Famer
Problem with Cremer is he cant hit.

Solid number 9 in tests definitely.

Zim was always known for batting very low but when we had that, we had a shaky top order and now our top orders functioning we have nothing after Sean.

Personally I think a good one day team would be;

Chibhabha

Hamilton

Craig

Sean W

Raza

Elty

Moor/Richmomd/Forster/Regis/Coventry

Waller/Lamb

Cremer

Panyangara

Chatara

Spin heavy but the attack is no worse than anything we currentluy have, and at least we bat down the order.

But again, idiots will complain at some point that there are too many whites in the game they brought to Zim.
Pretty much similar to what I have. I like the idea of strengthening our batting lineup by picking as many better batsmen in the team, and also making the team rely heavily on spin and medium pacers( Chigs,Chibabha etc).

No whites=no wins, stats don't lie. Give me 3 zim black world class players? Taibu was decent and Chatara looks good, but I don't think there were any black world class players in Zim. If all the white players were to return, I would only choose Chatara and Hami(maybe) in the current team.
ODI team

Chibhabha

Hasakadza

Ervine

Chigs

Williams

Raza

Mutiwza

Cremer

Madziva

Wasakadza

Chatara

I'd pick Pany in a test side over Madziva or Wasakadza depending on the pitch. I've had enough of him in the ODI side though. Stats are rubbish and bleeds too many runs towards the end of the innings.
ZCF Hall of Famer
We need to find a seamer or two who can actually take wickets, so I'd gamble with either Mumba or Musoko .....

ODI'S always depend on the pitch but if we were playing a sudden death match tomorrow in Zimbabwe I'd go with .....

Chamu

Hami

Ervine

Chigs

Willy

Raza

Moor w/k

Jongwe

Cremer

Panyangara

Chatara

Jongwe could also be a strike bowler he was near top of the charts in last years Logan Cup, could replace him with Waller or Nyumbu but with Willy and Raza we have some spin options .....

PJ as the keeper is a bit controversial but Regis and Richie have really struggled with the bat and Regis behind the stumps as well, I guess Mutizwa could keep but I'm confident Moor could hit some lusty blows at the end of the innings ......

Admin can we flag this racist thread please and, when are zimdoggy and his fake zimbofan getting banned seeing how easily you got rid of hhm?

Paaaaalease. Conant.

Zip it brother. As a majority rule we have and are oppressing the minority white race in our beloved Zimbabwe Cricket! How can we stand by and accept this??? Yes many whites during Rhodesia days stood by and we wished they'd would not, now the roles are reversed and we are more powerful as a majority yet still insist on standing by when,,,,

1)Maximum whites in the team is 4- this is well documented since 2003- we have debased our national pride in a treasonous way. Used subterfuge and obfuscated that it is a quota system needed for the blacks in the country to take pride--which automatically segregates all the other colours that make up Zimbabwe-- these few people have soiled their pants with millions of dollars for their own personal gain and in their wake spread propaganda and racism for the plebs(like yourself) to fight against the whiteys, coloureds, indians etc Hence no one is shouting at them while they steal millions and destroy the pride of a nation. WAKE UP!

Or go racially oppress the minority whites in swimming.

Personally i'd like you to get a bag of cement, fill in that chip on your shoulder and help the situation instead of being a Tick on a Bulls bollock.

He's now going to call you an Uncle Tom. Is HHm actually banned or has he just gone quiet?

Alright Malcolm X, settle down.

Speak for yourself Jimmy, you don't speak for me nor the majority of black people in the country. Neither do I take collective guilt for Zanu's chaotic land reform programme nor their racist policies or so called cricket quota system. Neither Is its not my problem you have an inferiority complex and are a waanabe white person: some of us will protest and protest loudly at racial undertones whether naked or thinly disguised like zimdoggy's, or wherever other wretched earth they might come from, even hhm's.

If you don't think there is anything wrong with these statements,

The Joke is on Utseya, he has been used by his own kind to spearhead an agenda that got him hated by his peers et al.

Whether he will eventually realise a cushy position in ZC as was promised remains- with Givemores continued rise to power i expect Prosper will be well looked after.

To compare Utseya to Streak et al revelations on race issues etc is beyond logical and bordering on insane.

Utseya was banned from bowling yet still expected a place in the squad which he got as he was owed it by a few. But to play, no chance.

Were white Admin back then racist? Probably. But did we enjoy the best of Zimbabwe cricket, yes! So perhaps they selected the best of Zimbabwe.

Now we are the wooden spoon hunters and the circle of racist hate turns again to destroy a generation of white cricketers. Which really makes the monsters of yesterday, today's monsters.

Shame.
ZCF Hall of Famer
Hahah have you even read Utseya's letter ??

The guy claims he's a "genius" and could reinvent himself as a world class off spinner in a matter of months, but decides not to but to just winge that his right arm slow straight balls weren't deemed good enough to play a match in the WC even though he was smashed all over the park by a 2nd XI northern districts team 😂 😂 😂

I don't understand you're logic you want all the experienced guys dropped for un-proven players but you defend Utseya to the hills ???

You clearly have an agenda and are fooling know one .......

Which one of my XIs lately of the fresh guys and the incumbents has Utseya in it?

I wasn't aware Utseya needed any defending. Where in any of my comments have I defended Utseya? Questioning forumites' opinions of Utseya has got nothing to do with Utseya but forumites' bias. If you read my posts correctly Utseya is not the subject, certain fellow colleagues here are.

What agenda is that exactly? And why on earth would I be seeking to fool anybody when it has been proven repeatedly in this forum, that the majority adopt steadfast views based on favourable rumours which in turn assume the status of facts?

The forum is littered with years of rumours disguised as facts to the point that they are legendary. Trust me I'm not the one fooling anyone, being fooled or fooling themselves.

In fact, this Zimbabwe cricket as we know it died years ago. Bvute, Mangongo Makoni & Chingoka are many years into their theft+corruption prison terms and nowhere close to parole. We're just wasting our time here. Leave Vermeulen and Welch alone to guide Zimbabwe past these T20CWC semis. They've fallen to the mighty Proteas in the 3 past WC semis and Nick deserves the perfect send off, which will is almost certain after Pupua New Guinea pipped England to the final.

Mate, saying there is no mass corruption at ZC is like saying Zanu PF run free and fair elections.

Who said they run illegal elections? I'm right next door in South Africa and we don't know any of that.
