Afghanistan Series: Predictions

Opening post

It won't be 5-0. I'm glad the Afghans finally broke the duck after 19 games in which they crossed 250 just twice I think (top score of just 270 odd). Finally got 330+ because they didn't have the trademark Afghan collapse. Did have a little wobble when sloggers Shahzad and Ihsan got out followed by that dolt Asghar.

5-0 would be great since Afghans have fallen behind ZIM in the rankings. But 4-1 is more likely cuz the Afghans won't be putting up 330 every game no matter how flat the wickets or how many no balls Chatara dishes up. Would love to be proven wrong, but if its only happened once in 19 games, whats the likelihood it will repeat 5 times in a row?

If you are such a big Afghan fan and don't want Zimbabwe to win..then why the hell are you on this forum???

Its weird isn't it? Most of the people here are non-Zimbabwean by national origin. According to the forum data I originally signed up in Nov 2009...I remember there was a ZIM tour of BD at that time and thats how I came to be here. Back then, ZIM were our biggest rivals and I still view ZIM from that POV I guess.

Thats a difficult question to answer. I honestly don't know. I enjoy the various differing viewpoints on the forum that all the fans bring and like to mix my own thoughts in.

I can tell you though that I generally support all the Associate nations who have mostly native and homegrown players. Bangladesh was an Associate when I first heard about cricket and I think all teams who play consistent cricket should have a pathway to World Cups and Test cricket. However, that support doesn't extend to teams like, Hong Kong, Oman, and others who have all desi expats. I guess the UAE is a majority expat country, so thats OK I guess. And I make an exception for the USA since I'm American and Canada since its a country of immigrants.

As such, I really support the Afghans and the Irish who have put in consistent performances for a decade and have always risen to the occaision to take full advantage of the opportunities they have gotten. They play with a passion that is refreshing to see.

Not much you can say after an ass whooping like that. Yes, I'm surprised by how resilient this SL team has been. Especially after we beat them by 163 runs, they came back and didn't give us a chance.

Of course I still think we can take them on at the Asia Cup and in the World Cup next year, especially if the pitch is flat.

1. PSR - he is a Bangladesh supporter, stop being a sour bloke and let him support who he wants to.

2. I can't remember his username, but the guy who's been s**t talking Jarvis saying he's crap when clearly he's the best of the 3 to return also has a tagline that is the prosper utseya catch. Most obvious hhm ban the bloke.

Who was baiting me except for Robot? Even then Robot keeps it civil and there's nothing wrong with a little "flavor". My team got their asses kicked, perfect time for someone to get a few proverbial jabs in :D
