That's because in ICC WCL Div 2 basically Oman, USA, Scotland, Namibia, PNG just keep playing each other non stop. They actually get to play a lot more than what Zimbabwe does, and beating each other gives them rating points.

I think our highest ranking was 6th and that was when we played the top teams. That is one of the most monumental falls from Grace in cricket

Let's see if there is some sort of a resurgence from tomorrow. I think the fight shown in last 3 games should give some confidence to Zimbabwe. If they keep pushing they can do better.

We don't have the players. They can cajole, implore, beseech, shout, threaten or do whatever but when virtually man for man we are outgunned we are not winning much.

Which of our players would make the Afghan T20 squad?

Yup! I understand, but then the gap shouldn't be as massive as a 6-0, hoping Zimbabwe can start something good here. This game is played as much in the mind as it is on the field. I don't think Zimbabwe believe as of now, that mentality has to change.

I watched that Flower Houghton Fletcher era slowly get it right. That was with really good players learning how to win on the international stage. You have to have a nucleus of good, smart and determined players pulling together and dragging everyone along for the ride. The support staff can only do so much, the rest comes from the lads doing it together.

With our paucity of international players and atrocious selections we can't even get our best eleven onto the park to give us a fighting chance. You end up with 11 guys looking out for themselves.

The brains trust of the start of that good period of cricket were Flower/s, DH and Fletcher. They're still around 😂

We've got guys that got very used to losing, shrugging their shoulders, collecting the paycheck and resuming normal ops the next day. No fire in the belly. Just a job and hope for a miracle. We are way below what those guys had in the bank to get started. The cricketing world has left us far behind.
