Eagles had some second string guys in the 50 over game. Mountaineers bowled exceptionally well and Eagles batters all tried to play some low percentage shots. First time I've seen Kasuza, he's a promising batter.

In the longer version Razza started well, he got a few short ones that he despatched and then got a really poor LBW decision ( where do ZC find these umpires from??) it would have definitely gone over the top and possibly missed leg. Kasuza took a blinder at 3rd slip to get rid of Clem Rhizibowa. Again the Mountaineers bowlers were outstanding. I haven't seen such consistency from Zim bowlers for a long time. Nick Welch made his debut at 4. One false shot in the first over and then an innings of grit and concentration. He only made 21 off 77 but he hardly got a loose delivery. He relies a lot on short stuff (which he's not getting) for boundaries and is going to have to become more proficient off his front foot. He edged one after lunch which was a pity as he was looking really solid. Eagles batting line up is not looking too good. This pitch is seaming and is tricky. If Eagles can get Hammy and Kasuza early there's still a game on here.

Great to get the report there Googly ….

Hopefully you can give us some more reports on some of the other players on show ….

Great to see Nick Welch make his 1st class debut ….

Did you get to see any of the List A match ?? I'm curious to see how the 3 Eagles quicks went Nyauchi, LTGM and Aliseni …..

The Eagles seem to have so many players at their disposal …..

There has been some strange names appearing on the team sheets whilst the national team players have been away many of them are not good enough to play FC cricket but in Tatenda Mupunga the Mountaineers may of found a player who can hold his own, even at the age of 26 he has a lot to offer and has done very well for the Mountaineers this season.

Big chance for Kazusa to go big here, needs to couple of century's over the rest of this season to make a push for the national side.

Goats moving along well after losing Tino. He has seemed to struggle this season.

Yes, Mupunga has been a really good find, although he probably wouldn't make the side if Chatara played.

And thanks, Googly, for the report.

Yes I agree, Mupunga looks good, swings it both ways as well. They wont drop him if he bowls like that.

Gerry Aliseni carrying way too much weight, was blowing hard after an over. He's got that "flick" that generates an extra bit of pace but he's got a long way to go. There's no way he should be getting a start without shedding at least another 20 kilo. You can see he once had some real gas.

How did LTGM go after his injury, one would expect him to be the Eagles number one bowler when he is back to full fitness?

Thanks for the first hand reports, Googly.
