Opening post

Game underway in Masvingo with Rhinos winning the toss and choosing to bat

cricinfo say

Rhinos : Sibanda, Marillier, Ballance,Taylor (c), Waller, Wessels (wk), Nyathi, Mugava, Rainsford, Nicolson & Chinouya

Rocks : Chibhabha, Kaia, Chinyengetere, Taibu (wk), Mutumbami, Maregwede (c), Chisoro, Matanga, Kamungozi, Munyaradzi & Tembo

I know Taylor is national skipper but i'm not sure if he really does take over from Sibanda at franchise level, Taylor is the only change coming in for Madziva, Rocks have Taibu, Chisoro, Munyaradzi and Tembo in but still no Vitori or Vermeulen

Rhinos 36-1 in the 7th over Marillier 20, Sibanda 11*, Ballance 0*, Chisoro 1-11

No updates for ages, loss of contact, rain or loss of pigeon is anyones guess

Rhinos 119-2 after 23 overs

Sibanda 42*, Taylor 3*, Marillier 20, Ballance 46, Chisoro 1-23

The only logical answer is that Taylor has made a score so high Cricinfo can't handle it.

😂 Mr 'No Footwork', wasn't exactly setting the world alight with his 3* up to that point!

Sadly there's an information vacuum from Masvingo, but I hope Bayhaus was in Mutare to give us some complimentary elegant commentary on OUR LITTLE MASTER at work. Pity I wasn't there to witness is, but that century was long overdue Matsi! With Vusi not out on 42 in the corresponding fixture, I wonder IF he went on to get a 100, in which case it would be hard to pick the best out of the two knocks. No doubt, among our present lot, they are top of the pile of those most attractive to the eye when on song (not forgetting hit-or-miss Coventry). Whenever those two make a notable score, it's often one to savour.

Great news, the Masvingo pigeon hasn't become a friendly fire victim after all ;)

Rhinos finishing their 50 overs with 305-8, Waller 86*, Taylor 55, Sibanda 47, Ballance 46, Mugava 24, Marillier 20

Best of the Rocks bowlers, Kaia 2-32, Matanga 2-33, Chisoro 2-62

Rocks have just started their reply needing a runrate of 6.12, doing well so far at 58-0 in the 10th with Kaia 31* and Chibhabha 18* doing the business, looks set to be a close match unless Rocks self destruct again

Looks as though the scoreboard is still in catch up mode at the moment

Rocks are now 139-2 in the 24th over and very close to the required runrate

Kaia 31 and Chibhabha 20 are the men gone, Taibu 39* and Chinyengetere 30* at the wicket, Chinouya and Nicolson the wicket takers

Rocks now 175/2 after 30 overs. Tatenda Taibu (70 no.) giving Rhinos captain Vusi Sibanda something to think about at the moment

A tie! Wow! BRM should probably give us some stats, on the history of ties in our List A, and indeed international and ODI stats. It would be interesting to know. i doubt they'll be many where score were tied 300+! :o

Brilliant fightback from Rocks after the Logan defeat and having 305 scored against them today

305-8 for Rhinos ties with 305-9 for Rocks

Taibu 106, Chinyengetere 58, Chisoro 29 and Matanga 10* seeing them home, Mugava 3-47 and Nicolson 3-59 the best of the bowlers who gave away a ridiculous 40 extras including 21 wides between them, schoolkids could bowl better than that and Rhinos can think themselves lucky to get a share of the game

What a cracker of a game and Its funny how the two centurians in todays matches were two of the best runners between wickets.
