and on a vaguely related matter, David Houghton has parted company with Somerset. New DoC Matthew Maynard will now take on Houghton's role as batting coach.

Glad to see that Sheppard has taken over the Mountaineers, they are in safe hands, he is a good man has done so much for cricket in Masvingo and in particular the remarkable rise of Kyle College.

The T20 tournament will be held at the end of the season, expect fixtures to be out in March.

Well, I'm sticking to the Mountaineers for now. But I can see the Rhinos finally tasting some success this season. Looks like everything is falling in place for them.

Are we expecting the under 19 matches to be full List A games or just friendlys?

They have not thought this one through. They need to find some decent u19 players to pick a side from within the next few weeks. It makes it difficult if Burl, Lake, Bell, Nel, Gayle, Jongwe etc aren't available for their 4th World Cup. The record for cheating is held by Afghanistan fielding a 27 year old, let's see if we can run them close.
