Yup, that would be a statement of intent that I'd like to see them try - if Ireland go to pieces we'd be in with a shot, if not then hey, we're no worse off. Doubt it'll happen though.

For a game petering out to a draw today was very exciting.

Great knock by Dabengwa but fantastic from Sean Williams. Sean is a player when he is not thinking of playing for South Africa or perpetually injured is one of the most naturally gifted and a cert for the test team when we get back.

Brilliant.

Well done, especially Keith and Sean. There's something about this squad I like and that's not giving up. Throughout the I-Cup different players have withstood the pressure to collapse and this experience is invaluable.

550 up now with Forster Mutizwa having the tail for company as he approaches his 50

I don't see much point in declaring, with a track like this one i doubt that Masakadza and the other bowlers will be too excited about having any longer a bowling session than they have to

I really hope that negotiations are still ongoing over the Scotland fixture, it would seem a little underwhelming to get into the final because of stupid political reasons, i know various opinions have already been put forward but Scotland were offered a fixture based on it being played at a neutral venue and i believe that's how it should remain, if not then it's off to Dubai in november to play Afghanistan for the silverware

590 all out, a lead of 125. Not that it really matters, unless Ireland go all to pieces...

Early wicket, Ireland 6/1 :W:

Not looking as though an Irish calamity is going to happen unfortunately

103-2 now as Porterfield departs for 66 to Matsikenyeri with the Irish trailing by only 22 runs with just under 40 overs left

Mind you, could it be that SuperMatsi is going to spin them out and set up a Zim win ?

:D

138/4, with Williams & Sibanda doing the good work with the ball..! Ireland lead by 12.

Strictly speaking, this could be called off in 10 minutes and called a draw. I wonder if Zim will insist on playing the final hour, just in case... :)

I think it will be feet up and relax before the ODI series, mind you, stranger things have happened ........

Not this squad that's playing the ODIs for Zim, though - good reason to play on, and wear the Irish out a little bit more..!

Called off.

Result: Ireland 465 & 151/4 (54 overs; Porterfield 66, Sibanda 1/3), Zimbabwe XI 590. Match Drawn. Zimbabwe XI 9pts, Ireland 3pts.

zim in final now.
zim xi played well i was hoping for better showing in bowling but Irish tail really waged.zim should have restricted them up to 350.anyhow good batting performances by zim .they will have tough assignment against very gifted afghan side in the final.i think they should sent their best 11 players available in country to compete in final against afghans.
