Don't feel shy to contribute, in fact, we encourage it! I'm interested in you posting in our 'Other Cricket' forum section, and you can invite some of your friends to share their view there. It's a quiet area of the ZCF, and we'd love to discuss at length about your sub-continent teams. A lot of cricket taking place and BRM has set the tone for the Pak-SL Test (unless they can find some good quicks, it looks like SL & Ind will struggle a bit in Test arena fro the next few years)
Batting after winning the toss was a stupid decision, not only because of the pitch, but as one of our friends here pointed out (Zimdoggy I think), we do better when we chase, because somehow the psychological shackles come off and we're able to do unbelievably better than expected. As for Taylor I think right now he's a captain in name only. Butcher, Grant and Heath pretty much dictate which bowlers play, the order of our batsmen as well as what we do when we win the toss. If Taylor makes the decision it's normally 'involuntary' :D . His field placings and body language in the field come across as someone who's coasting along most of the time, he's not that inventive, or for example not prepared to allow his more economical bowling combinations to stay longer in order for them to build pressure and possibly pick wickets. He prefers to keep them until later to give away the inevitable winning runs. Anyway he's young, capable but mature so he'll come right. I think he's better than your Dilshan and Bangladesh's Rahim. I would even go so far as to say PR aside, he could push Dhoni - who didn't have the balls to try and chase to win against the 'allconquering' West Indies.

ShareIt becoming a trend now, Zim bat first, Zim lose the game in the first ten-fifteen overs on any pitch. Let's face it, we have a better chance of winning when chasing and in the Pak series, we should've won both the first and third one dayer chasing.
Until we build confidence and get a couple of wins under our belt, we should field first when playing against top sides.
But it's no use fielding first when your bowlers toil for fifty overs, donating 350 and taking only 2 wickets! So should we go back to the quadruple spin choke strategy or continue with poor expensive Jarvis and Vits and hope that one day they develop into bowlers who can take wickets upfront?
