Hardly worth watching now that Craig "The Sluganator" Ervine is out of the series.
My All-time Zimbabwe XI
Neil Johnson, Brendan Taylor, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), David Houghton, Sean Williams, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Paul Strang, Eddo Brandes, Blessing Muzarabani
He's only controversial because he's bowling slow-mediums. If he just remodelled his action like every other bowler in the world does then I doubt anyone would be calling for his axing so vehemently. He's always been a decent limited overs bowler. Concerns about his poor strike rate weren't unfounded, and if he wasn't keeping the run rate down then he had limited purpose. But overall he was doing a job.
However! This time last year he was a hero. He was taking regular wickets, a hat-trick even... very unfortunate timing really; he was in such good form. Personally I think his action was fine too.

Not sure why we are going back to Chari. That's not a good call at all.
They weren't officially part of Zimbabwe's squad on Wednesday, but Matabeleland Tuskers opener Brian Chari, legspinning allrounder Tino Mutumbodzi and medium-pacer Tawanda Mupariwa all trained with Zimbabwe the day before the first ODI.
Why Brian Chari is picked ? Why not Kevin Kasuza ? Kasuza can don the gloves too according to his cricinfo profile and can replace Mutumbami as a keeper. Kasuza has a better batting record than Chari in List A.
Tinotenda Mutumbodzi picked as a legspinner or an allrounder ? There are other spinners such as Wellington Masakadza, K Munyede, Brighton Mugochi and Natsai Mushangwe.
I guess that racist AC had something to do with this ?
About time I can't believe they actually had the balls to drop this bloke ......
Loosing Ervine is a big blow I'm sure Hami will bat 3 with Richmond opening, I guess Mupariwa's career isn't done yet? He would be effective on this slow low pitches .....
Ozias brute once said no player is bigger than the game. Good that prosper is dropped...not because of his AC tussles but because he wasn't adding value to the team.
Beign a ZC selector is an unforgiving job. You finally get rid of Utseya but then are stuck with Macolm Waller, who shouldn't anywhere near there. The only way to get him to play is to pick supposedly inferior and less experienced batsman. Only when he fails can it be possible to include Malcolm. Picking someone like Vusi Sibanda and giving him 3 ODIs he will definitely come good. Same applies to Mutizwa, Kasuza & Kaia.
This reminds me of the Springboks where a Black reserve player is always in the squad but when the main pick gets injured, someone out of the squad is called in to replace him and the reserve stays on the bench. This is setting a bad precedent. Malcolm is in the squad, he should have played.
Nyumbu doing a good job here he is head and shoulders better than utseya. However problem seems to be if one of the spinners does badly they turn back to utseya when they should be looking at someone knew such as wellington or munyede
