Opening post

Our men in form, Hamilton, BT and Williams looked short of time and looked like they wanted to get it done at the earliest, took unwanted risks - clearly pressure telling and going blank for a split second costing dearly :(

Bigger things on the horizon: If you are a Zimbabwe cricket fanatic, I would suggest you go to the Himalayas and perform penance. Coming days can be very disturbing.

Well, Taylor was talking about the Test series in the post match. If the players union wanted to make an impact, he could have thrown the cat amongst the pigeons by suggesting there might not be a Test series...

Well, he couldn't have talked about it there, obviously. Let us hope for the best, against all odds.

That episode of Straight Drive was interesting. Pommie asked Campbell about the strike and about the Test squad...

Campbell said the board and the players are meeting tomorrow and admitted that the players aren't getting paid and that it needs to be sorted out.

When talking about the Test squad, he said that there wouldn't be too many changes. Worryingly, when he was asked directly about leg spinners he just mentioned Mushangwe - and that Mutombodzi wasn't suited to the longer format. No mention of Cremer at all which sent the alarm bells ringing for me. Essentially said it was either Utseya (defensive option) or Mushangwe (attacking option) and he hoped it would be the attacking option.

Bemoaned the loss of C Ervine and Jarvis to greener pastures. Said Vitori is likely to return and Chinouya might get a run. No mention of Meth either which was also a worry.

Said that Mawayo would return and that Mutumbami will be playing because Chakabva had a decent run and didn't cement his spot, and Taylor shouldn't keep in all formats. Was happy to see Taylor in form, he basically said no Taylor, no Zimbabwe.

Yeah, interesting few minutes of talk there, and no mention of Cremer and Meth for the test squad by Alistair.

How tangled up is AC in the ZC web of lies? Is he an enemy to the players and fans now?

When our team consisted of players like Meth, Cremer, Ervine, Price, Lamb and Jarvis the side looked really strong. I mean Jesus Christ Blignaut even made a return in 2010! And now, they've gone it seems. Meth is a mystery, Cremer another one, and we all know about the rest. I mean there's nothing to pick from. Coventry isn't interested, Ewing isnt fit, Duffun has retired etc. When the FC system looked string and healthy in 2010, and with the Stanbic Bank T20 in place, we had guys like Ryan Butterworth, Ian Nicholson, Rolan Benaude, hell even Gary Ballance was there, providing some backbone to the FC system. They've ALL gone, and tbh, it's depressin as f**k
