I know this because this is what is said about hi in the grapevine .So my concern is that selectors are now using grapevine information to base their selections .

I think a review of the selection panel would not hurt . Our selectors are letting us down , they let us down during the world cup , and now .

Experiments should be done at Franchise level and Zim A level . They should not mess up with a team that was building momentum .

Yes, precisely!

Zhuwawo has had this reputation for a long time; it's why he was selected for that Canada series a few years ago. Perhaps he's a bit of a hitter at club level or something but I've never seen any evidence of this at domestic level. And certainly not at international level. I don't think he has progressed as a player since that Canada series; the lack of technique remains and there doesn't appear to be any special level of hand-eye co-ordination to compensate for this.

It almost seems like, as you say, the only reason he was selected was because he has this "reputation" - a bit like David Warner for Australia. A bit like the Johnson Marumisa selection a few years ago although he never actually got a game.

I feel bad for Zhuwawo, he has absolutely been thrown to the wolves as he is not international standard. Twice now.

It's time to stop this nonsense with trialling new openers as well. Sibanda is fair enough, he's made the position his own now... but Taylor needs to be opening again. In the last 2 years he is averaging over 60 at number 2 (oddly only 23.50 at number 1) and has 3 centuries. It's absolutely bizarre that he was demoted to number four on the back of one bad series (where he still happened score a century opening); the commentators said that the coaching staff overruled him as he wanted to remain as opener! Perhaps they feel vindicated because he still scored a few half-centuries at number four but I think if you've got an international quality opener in the team then you open with him.

Not sure l agree. Taibu is not a T20 player..Taylor or Coventry can keep.

While agreeing with a lot you said about playing your best hitters up the order etc., I beg to differ with your take on Taibu. I do think there's room for a nurdler and frenetic runner like Tibba in every T20 side. What's really hurting us is the inability of a number of players to rotate the strike. He won't score 40 of 15 balls, but he'll always score at a decent rate, even in T20 terms. Taibu can be the perfect foil for the likes of Coventry or Chigs, and if one of them had managed to stay with him till the end we would have won.

You could have a point, my take was given 20 overs, he would normally come in at about 6, which in a "normal" team is "party time", but if he were to come in then you are talking at 3 if not opening, at 6 he is hardly going to get a move on and explode, but then again, a nurdler would not get us very far at the top, besides Taylor seems to be able to play through the innings(a la the famous win vs Australia in Cape Town), and keep, don't think a second nurdler would be needed. I'm not 100% sure he is a T20 player, look at it this way, the best player in the world (Trott) would hardly be the first name on England's T20 team, so nothing against Taibu, just think you only need 5/6 batsmen in T20, but I am open to you explanation...
