Tibba was a LION amongst sheep and hyenas. The hyenas could have a go at the sheep by scaring them and scattering them but they couldnt get at the Lion! I respect Tibba for standing up to the establishment, he even had the notorious Temba Mliswa come after him!

After reading his interview post retirement it sounded like he would never even contemplate watching a cricket match let alone making a return, but his name continues to pop up ...... Does anyone actually think he would return or is this just wishful thinking ????

I think we'd all love to see him back !!!

It is wishful thinking at the moment, but David Coltart has been mentioning this regularly of late too, and you never know. Although he said he was leaving the game to work for the God, it looked like going away from the game was priority compared to serving the god. A couple of quiet and detailed sessions with Waller or whoever, and you might see him back!

Yes, most of the black players have been disappointing in their inability to speak out against injustices in Zimbabwean cricket. Taibu clearly has some backbone.

what are the real prospects for black players who stand up to the system (or stand up for themselves). I think it's easier to stand up for yourself when you know you have alternatives ... would you say most of them do?

If they spoke up the system might actually change. As long as the black players are taking orders from ZC nothing will change for the better. Plus, what do they actually have to lose? Its not like they are getting paid anyway.

If you round up 25 of the best blacks and collectively strike. As well as the dozen or so relevant white people that should be enough. Even zc won't be willing to send out a 4th string side - I think.

Black fans will have more sympathy

if black players stood up. Takes away the race card option. Which the top dogs use to convince the rather dumb masses.

Possibly guys ... but I think you've both misread the climate (though I guess it's possible I have)... since Andy stood out there next to Henry, black armband in tow) ... the ZPF propagandist defence forces have been all over cricket. Andy flower saw him and Olonga as "one white Zimbabwean and one black one operating together [giving] the message the most eloquent balance" ... ZPF propaganda chiefs presented it as a white guy at the end of his career taking advantage of an impressionable young black man in a last ditch attempt to protect the white hegemony of Zim cricket...
