Opening post

Given our dismal performances in the World T20 do you think we have fallen behind Afghanistan? I watched most of their match-up against India and thought they didn't look so out of their depth. They picked up early wickets against one of the worlds best batting lineups and their batsmen got them to a respectable total. Zimbabwe have looked very poor in this tournament and a long long way behind everyone else. What are your thoughts? I would like to think Zimbabwe would beat Afghanistan over the course of a series of matches but maybe I am not so sure now.

T20 they probably are yes, they seem to have a bit of attitude and self confidence. However play them in a ODI series i reckon it'll be a completely different story for sure

It's a bit of a cliché, but yes, Afghanistan play without fear. And they seem to be enjoying every minute of international cricket while our team travels to every tournament thinking: ok, here we go again.

Tomorrow in a T20 they would give us a hiding. An ODI or "test" series home and away (UAE) would be interesting and probably a close run thing.
In T20s, Afghanistan is definitely better. In ODIs & tests,It depends on conditions. If the conditions are spin-friendly, I would consider both of them equal. If the conditions are seaming, Zimbabwe should have the upper hand.

If they aren't scared of strapping bombs to themselves they certainly ain't scared of no off spinner

I think you'll find Zimbabwe will easily defeat them on home turf but in the sub continent.... Jihad will occur

We would safely beat them in Zim, agree with the Dogg. Asia might be a challenge, but I think our heads would be better against them.

Afghanistan crashed to 8/26 against England. That's a good 20 runs short of where Zim would normally be; so I think that answers the question of which team is better 8-)
