So with 2 left to play, what do ZCFers anticipate? What do you guys want to see from here on out?

My answer: I think what will happen will largely be pitch dependent. We're not skilled/disciplined enough to hammer Zim regardless of the pitch conditions. Then again, even Pakistan and South Africa found out they weren't good enough to blast Zim away either, so thats something for us to take heart in.

The Mirpur wicket traditionally has no turn, low but even bounce, and offers no seam movement. 450-500 is a par score. Even superb fast bowlers like Trent Boult have been unable to get much swing or bag many wickets on it. One of the many reasons why BD seamers have such woeful averages. The pitch for this match however had variable bounce, did offer some seam movement, very little swing, and loads of turn for our spinners. Hathurasingha seemed to indicate BD were surprised with the nature of the pitch and not quite what they ordered. Taylor also stated the pace and bounce were similar to what Zim experience at home. The pitch for this match was more of a minefield than a sporting track, and 300 was probably a par score on it, which both teams failed to achieve. However such a wicket closes the gap between the sides and lends for a very close game. If both teams had perfect discipline BD might have managed to win by 6 or 7 wickets instead of just 3.

If we have similar wickets in Khulna and Chittagong, the games will be close unless BD pull up their socks with the silly run outs, etc. Even then, the margins will not be huge as on a pitch like Mirpur a wicket is always around the corner.

If the tracks offer assistance to spin and none for pace, then I think BD will win big. If they are typically flat tracks, BD will win by at least a comfortable margin, but the match might go well into a 5th day with Zim offering considerable resistance.
