Hi all
My club in the UK are looking at a couple of Zimbabwean options as overseas for 2014
Obviously lots of unknowns at the moment, but would you think there is a possible scenario whereby the domestic season gets extended into May and June, preventing guys from coming to England?
Would be great to get a view to help our planning!
Cheers

Extension of season into May/June

At this point, ZC would be the only ones who know, if they're even planning that far ahead yet. Given the money woes, I'd bet more on a shortened season, myself - but I'm not the one that makes the decision. (More's the pity...)

Yes i cant see it going into May/June
The fact is the most of the FC players will earn more from an overseas contract than a franchise one so i would be surprised if the season goes on any longer than April.

ShareThanks guys, that's clear and in line with what we thought
Any ideas on the international schedule from May to September? We heard mixed reports on whether there was maybe an odi series with Australia in June/July? I guess there's always a chance that something gets scheduled at short notice as well?

South Africa will be touring, but if Australia do as well it would probably be only as a tri series and most likely be in June i would say.
By the way who are you guys looking at :)

Maybe South Africa in August.

Zimbabwe Cricket spokesman Lovemore Banda says the Zimbabweans weren't able to accept the offer and will instead play two tests and a limited-overs series against South Africa sometime around August.

ShareThanks guys for all the info, much appreciated
It looks as though Tapiwa Mufudza will be joining us, which we're very excited about. Seems to be a really good bowling prospect from his cricinfo and cricket archive, but any further info would be much appreciated!
