Hey guys. Do you think fielding first was a good idea?

Certainly, wi are on the back foot so pressure them early, and its worked a treat so far.

It has worked so far, definitely. Need to get Gayle out soon though.

At the moment, Zimbabwe are bowling wonderfully well.
i reckon it was a good idea fielding first. put presure on them early like chigumbura's done. i rather see us chase a big total then defend it.

Funny you should say that. Besides yesterday, Zimbabwe's best victories in recent times have been batting second (vs Bangladesh at Harare, vs Australia at Cape Town).

Brent conceded the first 4 of the innings - seemed to be a poor delivery right on leg. Bowlers are becoming expensive now, West Indies run rate has crept up to 2.52 😂
better get a wicket soon, there goin after them a bit

Time for a bowling change. Please bring the spinners on, the quicks are getting hammered. Price and Utseya in tandem for 12 overs, then give Chibhabha a crack.

the spinners should not be an option during the powerplays, Gayle will just put them away.

once the 20th over hits they will be brought on.

11.4 Chibhabha to Gayle, FOUR

11.3 Chibhabha to Gayle, no run, short of a length delivery outside the off stump, punches off the back foot to the fielder along the ground at extra-cover.

11.2 Chibhabha to Gayle, no run, back of a length delivery and into Gayle, works to the on side.

11.1 Chibhabha to Gayle, FOUR, an elegant looking shot from Gayle as he drives a pitched-up delivery in the gap between extra-cover and mid-off to the fence.

Not really sure what other options we have. This is why I think Mpofu should be in the team.
Yeah i agree bring the spinners on when the power plays are over. All bring them on if gayle goes out.

Zimdan will you be goin to the bulawayo matches

Amazingly, the run rate is dropping. It's dropped from around 8.3 to 8.1. Matsikenyeri is doing very well!

If Cricinfo is acting up, try http://www.cricbuzz.com/live-cricket-sc ... ary-4.html

That seemed to be alright while Cricinfo was acting strangely.

Windies win by 110. Disappointing performance after the 1st ODI, but probably an inevitable result after Zim lost their early wickets, and more proof that Zim's batting is still in need of help.

Key for the HSC pitch seems to be to bat first, then put the pressure on the opposition with your bowlers...

Largest paying crowd since the initial player dispute, apparently - around 4,000. The wins over Australia and West Indies aren't doing any harm to the side's popularity...

well agreed i am sure wins are important for any team popularity and i think this zim team has two famous wins against aus and WI.hope some are to come in near future. though they did not compete that well today but i am sure atleast they be more competetive in upcoming games.

4000 isn't a bad crowd - and judging from Steven Price's article the atmosphere was very good. It was a better crowd than day 1 of the first Test between SA and NZ!

Disappointing result yesterday - we needed one batsman to really knuckle down like Chibhabha did in the 1st ODI, but nobody did.

I think 290 was probably beyond Zimbabwe anyway - had they restricted them to 250 it might have been a different story. Perhaps the batsmen felt the need to attack more than they normally would, which isn't true, a run-a-ball from the first over would have been sufficient - all Zimbabwe needed to do was rotate the strike regularly.

Losing Taylor was a big blow, especially after he was looking to score boundaries. He could have gone on to a big score.

Oh well, need to look to the 3rd ODI now. The series is 1-1, still very much alive.
