Hello everyone and congratulations on Zimbabwe's highly convincing win.I was one of the fortunates who watched it live in India on star sports.

It was great to see Zimbabweans giving their 100 % despite a few uncharacteristic misfields. It was a delight to see jersey number 7-Ray Price. A lot has been written about WI's reluctance to press for win. As i saw the match live i can say it was the most one-sided Zim win i ever saw. Truly they lost the mt bcoz of that Chanderpaul-morton partnership. Never at any point there was slightest hint of accleration. Having seen their response, i can say we should not fear WI and hope for 5-0 result.

I'm always a fan of Stuey and his 36 ball 50 was marvellous. Chams again proved that WI is his favourite opposition. The injury concerns are not tht serious and both should be available for sunday mt.

I think we have good chance to win 2nd ODI too as Taylor, Vusi and Tibly should fire in this one. Go Zimbabwe, rock the world.

Thanks for creating such a superb forum. Being far away in India i was craving for more news on Zim. Great work buddies

Through hard work, determination and a bit of luck 😂 :)

My deepest thanks to Victor for taking the time to answer my questions. He revealed that Ed Rainsford has been one of the toughest outswing bowlers he has faced this year - at least we know Rainsford is still on the club cricket scene and hasn't disappeared to England or something!

Thanks for the brief overview Dr Situ, welcome to the forum. Glad you like it! :)

Unfortunately, few of us (if any) managed to see this game - so it is a great relief to hear that Sibanda and Chibhabha do not have major injury concerns. Also very nice to hear that it was a very one-sided win!

well Keith Dabengwa can be the guy who can be replaced by any speaclist bowler either Mpofu or maruma can be tried in place for Keith Dabengwa .other wise team looks to me great and balance for 2nd ODI. BEST OF LUCK FOR ZIM.

Deabengwa is one of our form batsmen at the moment, and lengthens out batting order, so dropping him i dont feel is a viable option. His bowling also would be more effective than pace on the Harare pitch.

Williams is also waiting but i feel he will be left out.

he was not required to bAt in last game and he did not bowl too much either so batter to replace him with some one who can do one thing well. either pick a batter or pick a bowler i think maruma can even prove more handy if the pitch remain same and zim bat well his spinning option can proved really tough for WI if he be able to control his line. well williams can be the most suitable option if he fits he really should be included.

im pretty sure of a stream being available tomorrow for the match as this odi is being shown on STAR CRICKET, which is accesible from online streaming sites.

In the first win, even our new ball bowlers were unable to bowl full spell so that speaks volume of our depth.

As i was watchin it live so i can assure you all that both justice and Masakadza bowled superb second spell in death overs. Especially Hamilton's two yorkers to chanderpaul were simply superb.

yeah definatly mate, however if they were on tv i wouldnt.

The ground is only a short drive from my home, fortunatly im one of the lucky ones who has a car and fuel because of my funding.
they really need to break this partnenship.

Bowlers like Masakadza, and to an extent Utseya, are not going the partnership. It would be tempting to give Chigumbura two more overs - he is the strike bowler.

It is getting out of hand now, run rate up around 5.5/ov. :(
Zimdan Taylor wat do u do

wats your favourite moment your seen watchin a match

the windies are taking risks though guys, it will go wring eventually, escpecially once the powerplays are over.

i expect utseya and price to pin them down, forcing them to hit and hopefully spoon a few catches. Building pressure is what brings wickets.
utseya and price are on. this should bring the run rate down.
ZCF Hall of Famer
Hopefully. I'm quite worried though, both batsmen are well settled. WI are on track to make about 320 at the moment... I think that is about 20 or 25 runs more than Zimbabwe's best possible score at the moment.

Gayle injured. Chanderpaul replaces him.

23.3 Price to Morton, 1 run, works it to short fine leg for a quick single, shy at the bowler's end and again a chance of an extra run but Gayle slides to make his ground and looks like he has hurt himself in the process, physio is in and the game is held up for the moment

The stretcher has been called in, he has to be carried back. Chanderpaul is in as his replacement.

I hope he's okay. Zimbabwe better make the most of this situation by taking some wickets, fast.
lets hope he doesnt play the rest of the game. they really need a wicket
ZCF Hall of Famer
Dabengwa bowling.... bowling well too. But we don't need containment, they are going to make a big score regardless, we need wickets.
