Masakadza's last over had me thinking they'd blown it - but between Price and Cremer they could just pull it off. Will be close, though...

Roles reversed today. Price went for over 7 an over, Cremer just 3.5. Close game, there were only 6 balls in it. I'd go with an unchanged lineup tomorrow.

It's a crying shame that the players can't all hit some form on the same day, here and in Pakistan, a couple of batsmen get some runs but the others don't seem to be able to back them up.
The bowling is desperately in need of a breakthrough wicket taker, who is the man to fill that role ?, Rainsford ?, Mupariwa ?, somehow that man has got to come through, and quickly.
It's far from bad though, I think a lot of people would be expecting Zim to be bowled out for next to nothing but against West Indies, Pakistan and now, 200+ has been a regular score, it's just the lack of wicket taking that is making the defeats look bad.

Once again, acceptable batting. 200 in 40 overs is ok, not brilliant, but ok none the less. Bowling seriously lacks teeth though. Price can be excused his one off day, but it doesn'l look like Muzarabani will be the answer to the seam bowling issues at the moment.

Gestetner Diamond Eagles v Zimbabwe Chevrons
Kimberley, 13th February
Eagles team: Morne van Wyk, Jacques Rudolph, Dean Elgar, Boeta Dippenaar (captain), Ryan Bailey, Ryan Mclaren, Allan Kruger, Roger Telemachus, Dillon du Preez, Thandi Tshabalala, Victor Mpitsang, CJ de Villiers.
Expect Zimbabwe to be the same as against Titans.
Need to win the one - we're currently the only side with no points on the board...

Cribbage wrote:Not related to this game, but I thought I'd let you know that SuperSport 2 are showing our match on the 19th against the Lions. TenSports will more than likely take the feed as they seem to taking all the SuperSport MTN series coverage, which is quite good because you access TenSports at any time here.
Only highlights by the look of it?
But still, better than nothing! :D
Good find :)
EDIT: my mistake, it is live. Was looking at the wrong day

1/38 from 12.2. Ideally we'd be closer to the 4/5 per over mark, but we have only lost the one wicket which is good I suppose. To be honest, I think for Zimbabwe to win with the weak bowling attack, we'll need to score 240-250.
Mpofu in for Muzarabani. Otherwise, no changes.

That's Sean WIlliams' maiden List A century. Shame the total score isn't going to be enough to defend, I think...

Well done to Sean Williams, now if he plays like this on a regular basis and 2 or 3 other batsman can throw the bat ........

...and that's it for Zimbabwe. 218/7 (45 overs; Williams 102, Telemachus 2/39). Eagles require 219 at 4.87/over, which unless Zim can somehow manage to get some early wickets (unlikely with this attack), shouldn't be too hard for them...

Get rainsford back...He adds more to the team in general than say mpofu

Since when, Rainsford lacks pace. mpofu also lacks pace but his height puts him in front of rainsford in my opinion.

I'd say rainsford was pretty pacy when i saw the televised series of zimbabwe vs west indies 2006....He got gayle sarwan and co hoppin around and got a few wickets too

For all that Williams took a wicket in his first innings - why in hell are he and Taibu bowling?! You can just hear Eagles saying "thank-you" for the 9+/over rates... Do they not want to win the match or something?!

Eagles get a win they really didn't deserve.
Looking at the scorecard, Mpofu appears to have been injured so they've had to draft someone else in to cover, but:
T Taibu (ob) 2.4 0 29 0 10.87
..those figures are a joke at this level. Zimbabwe had this match all but sewn up, and they've gone and handed it to Eagles on a plate. Chigumbura and Cremer both had overs to spare - they're experienced bowlers, why give the ball to the wicketkeeper?! He's a club cricket bowler, not a List A one...
Speechless. Just speechless.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh :!:
Good effort from Ray Price, Gary Brent, Elton Chigumbura and Graeme Cremer, before his last couple of overs got caned, with the ball.
I think maehara has the right idea otherwise, speechless .......

My guess is he bowled the 4 balls of Mpofu's over, did alright, got another over, did alright, and got smashed for about 20 from his final over.
