Leave off Keith Dabengwa.
He's done enough to deserve to be in the squad. Perhaps not the final eleven, but definitely the squad, who deserves to be in there ahead of him??

I think Chibhabha definitely deserves a spot ahead of Dabengwa.

Fair shout. But, I think that if they were to select the first 15, both players would be in.

The big problem with Dabengwa is his age, he is now in his 28th year and still hasn't made a breakthrough.
On pure stats in all 1st class and List A he has managed the following
3 Tests and 20 ODI's 350 @ 20.59 HS 45 and 14 wickets @ 55.43
All 1st class and List A 2175 @ 22.42 in 114 innings with 1 hundred and 9 fifties and 112 wickets @ 36.20
I don't think there is anyone who would not be happy if he was doing the business with either bat or ball, let alone both, but he just isn't and at his age he should not be holding back younger players from having the opportunity of showing their potential.

It appears there was an unchanged lineup as expected (although Cricinfo have been known to be wrong).
V Sibanda, H Masakadza, SC Williams, T Taibu, BRM Taylor, E Chigumbura, RW Chakabva, AG Cremer, GB Brent, RW Price, T Muzarabani
0/9 from 4 overs, need to up the rate a bit. Titans will be batting under lights though, so there will be that short dusk period where batting will be hard, and perhaps Boom Boom can get a bit of swing. Not sure of Muzarabani can swing the ball, but if he can the conditions might suit him for opening the bowling.

Rain stopped play after the 4 overs, looks like a nice sort of day to play a day/night match 8-)

So much for Yahoo's sunny forecast...

And they are back on again, must have just been a shower. Hopefully the batsmen play the ball along the ground a bit for the next few overs, negate any swing the bowlers were getting.
0/10.

It might have been a shower, but there again, it might only have been a cricinfo shower.
14-0 after 6 overs and not a single boundary.

How many points do we get if the game is a no result? 8-)
😂
Masakadza on 1998 career List A runs.

Still off at the moment, I assume it would be 2pts each for an abandoned game, I also assume that Titans won't be best pleased with only 2 pts.

cricinfo is now showing the game as one of 39 overs, but they are also showing that it is still delayed due to rain.
If play does resume I would guess that Mr Duckworth and Mr Lewis will be getting their raincoats and wellingtons out of the cupboard.

ShareNot related to this game, but I thought I'd let you know that SuperSport 2 are showing our match on the 19th against the Lions. TenSports will more than likely take the feed as they seem to taking all the SuperSport MTN series coverage, which is quite good because you access TenSports at any time here.

Sibanda and Masakadza are making a good effort to put some runs on the board.
The current score is 64-0 after 12 overs, Sibanda 38* Masakadza 22*, which means 50 in the 6 overs since the resumption.

ShareDon't know how to feel about those two wickets. On one hand, letting an inexperienced batting allrounder dictate terms with the ball after such a great start is obviously terrible, but on the other hand, it could well be signs that the pitch is slow and/or turning, which is obviously good for Price and Cremer, if not Brent to some degree as well.

No, no, no, no, why is Williams in at number 3 ?
Taibu, Taylor, Chigumbura and Chakabva should all be in before him to keep the run rate going, he is a very good batting prospect but he is not a big hitter.
Now Masakadza is out as well and the score has gone from 107-0 after 18.1 to 114-2 after 22.1, only 7 from 24 balls

195/9, pretty bad seeing as we were 100/0 at one point. Again middle order woes have set us back, however hopefully our bowlers can sort something out and push for victory.

Worth noting that after Messrs Duckworth & Lewis have done their sums, Titans have a target of 199 (Zimbabwe's innings was cut short after it started, so there's a corresponding increase in the chasing target - assumption being that Zim may have scored at a faster rate if they knew from the start they only had 39 overs instead of 45).
