What link can i click on to get score updates?
Outstanding performance from firstly Chakabva wow what a brilliant innings for a young inexperinced batsman to come out and score 71* and win the game is gonna do him a gr8 deal of good and secondly price a tight spell of bowling which restricted the cobras...if only zim performed like this earlier than they would of defnatly made the semis and tbh they deserve to be in the semis but they always let them selves down when they were in dominant stages during this tournment. Robin Brown needs to try and sort this problem out. lets hope they can win the last game then they can be happy with thier performances

Chakbva's innings is grat in a number of ways!!!

Firstly it shows that zimbo's have some strength in depth..Also it puts pressure on people like matsikenyeri and sibanda..Hopefully with emergence of good young players like chakbva they will learn not to be complacent about their positions!!

What a great surprise to come home to 😂

When I left Cobras were 50 odd for 1 with Henderson smacking the ball around and, I must admit, I thought they were on for a big score. A great fight back by the bowlers with all but Chibhabha keeping the run rate right down. It might seem picky, but why did Masakadza only get 2 overs ?, there were 10 left to bowl and with 2-2 it might have been his day to pick up a couple more, looks like an excellent spell from Price as well.

The batting still looks a bit jittery but great to see Taylor get some time in the middle and a few confidence boosting runs. Top marks to Chakabva, 2 hours batting and a career best score, he must be floating this evening.
yes.............my dearest chakabwa has proved himself..........In my view,he is another taibu..........has the looks and he can take responsibility on his shoulders............One more, look at taibu figures 1 four and 1 six in 10 deliveries..........Ya, he is very gud in the powerpllay..but,need to be consistent. This side and line up will be doing good for zims in the coming matches....Williams shod replace chibabha and Maruma by Chingumbura :ugeek:
He has proved himself in the match against cobras..........In fact this MTN championship has given a lot of valid points into effect

1) Taibu as a dashing opener

2) Williams as 3rd in batting order

3) Maruma as a spinner

4) How Price and Utseya can test the batsmen together

5) CHAKABWA as a strong middle order contender

6) It also revealed the value of ELTON CHINGUMBURA.........Pls make him the most paid player in the side...He is giving a lot for this struggling zim side
good win for zimbabwe well done to chakabva 71 and i think masakadza has made himself a fine allrounder in the last half of this series :D
Nice to hear Zim won, Chakabva is a promising yung cricketer...he has been consistent which is good for Zim cricket. I just hope that the other guys like Maruma, Manyumwa, Kasteni will improve so that we can have a good competative base of players... :D :D
Regis Chakabva's career-best score earned Zimbabwe victory by three wickets in their MTN domestic championship match against the Nashua Cape Cobras in Paarl on Wednesday.

Full Scoring

Zimbabwe's bowlers tied the Cobras in knots and restricted them to a total of 174 for eight.

Chakabva, just 20, scored an unbeaten 71 off 88 balls to guide Zimbabwe to a reply of 175 for seven with nine balls left in the match.

Zimbabwe also owe a large chunk of the credit for their first away win of the campaign to veteran left-arm spinner Ray Price, who led the attack with his return of three for 23 from nine overs.

Price was sturdily supported by Gary Brent and Hamilton Masakadza, who took two wickets each.

The Cobras, who were without four players from their previous match due to national squad call-ups and Justin Kemp's banning because of his involvement with the rebel ICL, stumbled from one mishap to the other.

Ryan Canning nudged the home side towards respectability by coming in at number seven and scoring an unbeaten 35, the Cobras' top score.

Andrew Puttick (28), Tyron Henderson (25) and Stiaan van Zyl (28) all made promising starts before being removed from the crease.

Brent caught and bowled Puttick and had Henderson caught at extra cover, while Van Zyl fell to a return catch by Masakadza.

Zimbabwe's reply faltered to 41 for three in the 11th over before Brendan Taylor (41) and Chakabva turned things around with a stand of 75.

The partnership was ended in the 31st over when Pepler Sandri had Taylor caught behind.

Stuart Matsikenyeri (nought) was stumped by wicketkeeper Canning off Con de Lange five balls later, but Chakabva managed to find the required support to win the match for Zimbabwe.

Have anybody got the latest points table.............has zim got any chance to enter the semis with 20 points(if they win the nest game)
Legend
No chance i'm afraid baiju, the latest table is,

Titans 39 pts from 10 games - Qualified for semi finals

Eagles 23 pts from 10 games

Warriors 23 pts from 11 games

Cobras 22 pts from 10 games

Dolphins 21 pts from 10 games

Zim 16 pts from 11 games - maximum 21 pts if they got the bonus and a win on sunday

Lions 12 pts from 10 games - maximum 22 pts if they got bonuses and 2 wins, have a much worse net run rate than Cobras

The last 3 semi final places will be a straight fight between Eagles, Warriors, Cobras and Dolphins
 my mistake

We are talking about May this year (ie. in 2 months) :o

I think a 4 day match against Bangladesh or an East African Select would do. Though we still going to be hammered by India.

I predict South Africa 's record of partnership runs broken in our test against India (Indian innings) 😂 😂 😂

While Bangladesh have a few spearheads (Mashrafe, Shahadat) their only decent spinner was Rafique - and while he is quite good, he probably would struggle to get a game for a county. Sakib and Enamul Haque Jnr are both promising but still not up to Rafique's level.

My point is, while an opening attack consisting of Chigumbura and Brent/Mupariwa probably wouldn't concern the batsmen as much as Mashrafe and Shahadat, our spinners are pretty good. Price, Utseya, and even probably Maruma and Cremer are better than the Bangladeshi spinners.

If India score freely off the quicks, we have some good spinners to turn to. We know Price is a proven Test match bowler, and Utseya and Cremer can both hold their own. I think Price will be our breakthrough bowler in Tests, and I wouldn't be surprised if spinners take 60 or 70 percent of the wickets.

A 4 day match against Kenya would be good. But we'd need to win.

Why are people forgetting BLESSING MAHWIRE. He got a few four fers against new zealand and india in 2005 if i remember correctly!!!

He also hit a nice half century
I was just looking at South Africa/Bangaldesh ODI and I am sure we are way better than Bangladesh and would definitely do well in the tests, considering Bangladesh are almost about to get wacked in this ODI. I am sure we would definitely fare better and thrash them in a test. 😂 😂 😂 Any comments!!!!

Zimbabwe are a much better team batting second.
Legend
They will need to bat well.

supersports report Eagles have finished on 244-5 after having been 89-4 in the 27th over.

To be expected when the only two pace bowlers are Brent and Mupariwa. To make matters worse, only Price and Utseya are playing. Where is Maruma? Or Cremer?

Note to selectors: Chibhabha is not good enough to bowl first change, stop putting this pressure on him. Masakadza too. Both are little better than part timers (although maybe this is different at domestic level...).

Hopefully we can finish the series on a high, but I think 244 is a bit beyond Zimbabwe for 45 overs. At least Regis Chakabva is playing... who knows, maybe he and Taylor can manufacture an amazing victory.
wow zimbabwe have won!what a brillian batting display taibu 95* and would you believe it Matsikenyeri 60 our batting is really turning out strong

Blimey Zulu, I thought you had been at the gin bottle

Had to check with supersports that you were not joking and ....... you were not 😂

This is a good result, no doubt about that at all. Well done to Taibu and Matsikenyeri.
